Many thanks for providing an invaluable service to all of us -- a forum that allows all kinds of views to be aired out and shared. Unfortunately, as is the case in freedom in general, some people abuse the freedom of expression and resort to name-calling and profanity. That's the price, I suppose. But, thanks again for your services.

Just wanted to drop you a little note that the speed to connect to your site is "Extremely Slow" as of 2:30 pm EST on Friday.

I don't know whether this is your new server's speed, or you are still in the middle of the change over ! :)

Diversity of comments

Some of the readers of this site complain about the hit and run commenters on various blogs. Is it possible that they object to the hit and runs because they disagree with their statements? If so, it's better to ignore illogical and snide posts than it is to screen or control free speach. If the owner controls posters and theie comments, this site will be no better than the Iranian goveernments control of blogs in Iran.

Next thing you know.... people will demand that women wear headscarves while typing their comments here... Just kidding

JJ, I have a possible solution with regard to the chaos in leaving comments.

As you know, there are a lot of unhappiness with regard to the way people leave comments. There are accusations that different people use multiple names, and use these names in the same blog.

I believe that perhaps a happy medium in leaving comments would be a modified version of "Youtube". As you know, with Youtube, you have to be registered to leave a comment.

With the modified version, if a person is registered (w/Iranian.com), then they can leave a comment without any problem. However, if a person is not egistered, they can still leave a comment, but the blogger would have the ability to delete their comments if he/she chooses.

This gives an incentive to people to get registered. It also allows the blogger to spot people who are using different names on his/her blog, and remove their comments.

This will require your "IT" guy to write some codes and short programs for your system. But believe me, it will take away a lot of dissatifaction with the way things are right now .
