As we learn from events in Syria, the current policy of using Islamic extremists to overthrow secular governments definitely endangers Christians and anyone else* who does not share the beliefs of Islamic extremists. I recently interviewed a young Christian who lives in Damascus, who concludes that, "If Salafists come to power, they will force Christian women to wear hijab (cover their hair) -- not only Muslims. Salafists sheiks announce on Al Arabia and Al Jazeera that Taliban and Al Qaeda are infidels -- so imagine how rigorous the Salafists are!!!"

Please share this article with your friends, colleagues and congregation. And please question US government financial, intelligence and military support for violent Islamic extremists and mercenaries who are spun as "rebels," but who are in fact rigorously highjacking and subverting the indigenous freedom and democracy movement in Syria.

Wearing hijab by choice is an exercise in freedom. But being forced to wear hijab against one's will is an excercise in tyranny.

Father Fadi Haddad Martyred near Damascus "Terrorists assassinated Father Fadi Haddad, pastor of the Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Elias in Qatana, some days after his being kidnapped in the new town, Artouz, by a group of armed terrorists.
"A source with the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate in Damascus stated that Father Haddad's body was found shot in the head near Drousha on the Damascus-Quneitra highway.
"Fadi Haddad was priest of the Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Elias in Qatana in the outskirts of Damascus.
"One of the residents of the city told Agence France-Presse that the body was found in the town of Drousha, near Qatana and Damascus, indicating that he was murdered.
"He stated that the priest was acting as an intermediary for a doctor from Qatana who was kidnapped over ten days ago. He was communicating with the kidnappers, who demanded from the family more than 50 million lira ($700,000) to release him.
"The source, who refused to reveal his identity, stated that Father Haddad succeeded in getting the kidnappers to reduce the sum to 25 million lira ($350,000) but that when he went with the kidnapped doctor's father-in-law to deliver the money, the two men were kidnapped.
"The kidnappers returned to demand 750 million lira for the release of all three men. "Negotiations continued until yesterday morning, when the priest's body was found," according to the same source.
"The fate of the two other kidnapping victims is not known."

U.S help in Syria. Contradictory report
by Shirzadegan on Sun Nov 25, 2012 08:46 PM PST"as far as your claim that the US is not supporting the "opposition in Syria," goes -- you must have your head in the sand."jigsawnovich
The rebels say they don’t want direct military intervention in the form of troops on the ground. But they have repeatedly appealed for a no-fly zone similar to the effort that helped Libyan rebels topple Moammar Gaddafi last year and for supplies of heavy weapons to counter the regime’s vastly superior firepower, say rebels and opposition figures.
When the regime falls, as the rebel battalion spokesman assumes it eventually will, Syrians will not forget that their pleas for help went unanswered, he said.
“America will pay a price for this,” he said. “America is going to lose the friendship of Syrians, and no one will trust them anymore. Already we don’t trust them at all.”

Syria has oil?
by firstdayofmylife on Sat Nov 24, 2012 12:37 PM PSTSyria has oil?
One question
by Shirzadegan on Sat Nov 24, 2012 12:43 PM PST"the bankers who control the US are not making money off Syria. This is the real root of war, just as it was in Libya and Iraq." Jigsawovich
So why U.S is still hesitating to support oppositions in Syria? Why the war prolong almost 2 years. Why Clinton said that U.S doesn't want to involve in internal affair of Syria?
If your view is correct, U.S should militarily and financial support the opposition. If your view is correct, U.S should try her best to overthrow Assad as soon as possible, but we see that is NOT the case. U.S is NOT firm about Syria. The U.S doesn't take a clear position about Syria as much as she did about Afghanistan, Iraq and Lybia. Has it ever asked yourself why?
Obama clear said: "Ghadaffi must go". Bush clearly said that "Saddam is devil and God told him to go in Iraq". Tony blair said that Taliban took side with terrorism and we must get in Afghanistan. Have you ever heard they say anything close to that about Syria? of course , NOT. Have you ever asked yourself Why?
Hint: Supporting insurgents in Syria will help Sunni like Egypt establisheme come to power. U.S doesn't want that happen. The oppostions are not crytal clear pro america. Direct intervention and removing Assad doesn't help U.S. The result may be against what U.S, Israel want for the region.
P.S,
Please take a deep look at those who are insurgents and fighting against Assad. Who are they? what do they want to substitute if Assad leaves? what kind of establishement do they want? are they pro America or Russia or what?

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Sat Nov 24, 2012 11:47 AM PSTI agree with your statement that, "The
Point is the USA loves extremism for the middle east and North Africa,"
if by USA you mean corporations who sell implements of war/politicians
who benefit from war/and the owners of banks who benefit from the
petrodollar system -- not the American people who are being put into
national debt to pay for these expensive wars, and whose sons and
daughters are being killed/exposed to toxins/psychologically damaged on
the battlefield.
THE MOST IRRELEVANT OF ALL HERE,, ARE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WHO CAN NOT DEPEND ON ONE ANOTHER. SO WHAT? WHY EVEN BOTHER TO MAKE THE POINT THAT THEY ARE VICITIMS ALSO? ARE WE HERE TO MAKE NICE AND BE FRIENDS? I MEAN THE ENTIRE COMPLEXITY OF THE SYSTEM, INCLUDING NOT JUST CORPORATIONS, BUT ALL POLITICAL PARTIES AND ALL UNIVERSITIES THAT PARTICIPATE IN CREATING THE PEOPLE AS WELL AS PRODUCE THE POLICIES. CORPORATIONS ALONE, DOES NOT COVER THE SUBJECT OF WHO CREATED AND IMPLEMENTED THE PLAN TO KILL AN ALLY LIKE THE SHAH WITH CANCER, TO CONCEAL IT AND IMPOSE EITHER UNKNOWN JIMMY CARTER IN THE USA OR UNKNOWN KHOMEINI IN IRAN?
You wrote that, "...democracy and
progress are impossible for these societies to realize due to Interests
of The West." I disagree with you here. There are many educated and
capable people in the Middle East, and they may transition successfully
despite some Western efforts to make them all fight each other and
dissolve into chaos.
I HAVE PROOF, YOU HAVE NADA, ZILCH, HITCHI, I DON'T WANT TO DISAPPOINT YOU BUT YOUR VIEW FITS IN LINE WITH THE AIM OF THE US SYSTEM WHICH WILL USE ALL ITS POWER TO CREATE MORE WHO THINK LIKE YOU. PURSUING A CRUEL AND UNREALISTIC HOPE BENEFITS THIS US SYSTEM, WHICH TODAY IS SAYING IT MADE A MISTAKE WITH MOSSADEGH AS IF TO GIVE HOPE AND ENCOURAGEMENT FOR A NEW GENERATION TO PURSUE A PATH IT CAN MANIPULATE. WHICH THEY COULD NOT WITH THE LATE SHAH. EDUCATED AND CAPABLE PEOPLE ARE NOT THE ISSUE WHEN IT COMES TO CAPABILITY FOR DEMOCRACY. SEE RUSSIA WITH ITS VASTLY MORE EDUCATED PEOPLE AND ITS STRUGGLES. INDIA HAS MANY EDUCATED PEOPLE ALSO AND WHERE IS INDIA AFTER 75 YEARS? WITH ALL THE DEVELOPMENT SEEN IN THE DEVELOPED WORLD, BE TOTALLY FAIR INDIA IS FAR WORSE OFF COMPARATIVELY THAN WHEN THEY STARTED IN 1950'S WITH RESPECT TO THE DEVELOPED WORLD. AND INDIA UNLIKE NORTH AFRICA AND THE MIDDLE EAST IS NOT EVEN THE VICTIM OF A VERY SPECIFIC NEO-COLONIAL POLICY. YET IRAN WITH THE LATE SHAH IN UNDER 30 YEARS DID APPROXIMATELY 10,000 TIME BETTER THAN INDIA IN DIRECT OPPOSITION TO THE US SYSTEMS AGENDA FOR IRAN. YOU ARE REALLY PROPOGATING NOT JUST FALSE HOPE, BUT FOR IRAN CRUEL HOPE.
The main Western fear seems to be a corporate one -- that the workers of
the Middle East will organize and seek fair pay for their work. Support
for Islamic extremists may have something to do with a part of Islam
that seems tolerant of slavery.
NOT AT ALL, YOU ARE BEING INFLUENCED TOO MUCH BY RT WHICH HAS AN AGENDA OF ITS OWN, THE WEST IS IN TOTAL HARMONY WITH THE USA ON THE MIDDLE EAST AND NOT FROM A CORPORATE STAND POINT, THE ANSWER IS IN "LIMIT TO GROWTH" BY THE CLUB OF ROME. READING THIS HELPS ENLIGHTEN THE MULTITUDE OF FOOLS WHO THINK THE USA OR EUROPE WILL CHANGE ITS POLICY, BECAUSE IRANIANS WERE DECEIVED IN THE FIRST PLACE AS TO WHO AND FOR WHAT REASON THE POLICY WAS CREATED IN THE FIRST PLACE.
You wrote that, "The West is capable of
destroying the Civil Liberties and Civil Society it Pretends to Care
for..." I agree with you to a point here. We are seeing this in Syria.
But destroy may be too extreme and final a word. Humans have unusual
resiliancy and are often very resourceful. Also, small groups may have
an organizational advantage over some larger groups in that they may be
more nimble and able to make quick adjustments to their strategies.
WE SAW IT IT IRAN, IRAQ, AFGHANISTAN, SYRIA, LIBYA ETC. THE ONLY COUNTRY THAT IS INTELLIGENTLY MOVING TOWARDS DEMOCRACY FROM NOT HAVING IT ARE THE RUSSIANS AND THAT IS BECAUSE THEIR TACTICAL NUCLEAR CAPABILITY GIVES THEM THE ABILITY TO STAND ON THEIR OWN FEET, WITH OUT DEPENDING ON ANYONE, SO WHILE THE WESTERN COERCIVE AND MASS MEDIA APPROACH OF DECEIVING RUSSIANS IN PLACES LIKE CHECHNIYA WILL WORK AS THEY ARE HUMANS, ESSENTIALLY WILL NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND GRADUALLY RUSSIANS WILL REALIZE THE PROGRESS AND DEMOCRATIC DEVELOPMENT THE WEST DOES NOT WANT FOR THEM EITHER.
WHAT THE LATE SHAH SPENT HIS LIFE TRYING TO DO, GAVE THE RUSSIANS A GOOD INSIGHT INTO THE USA'S APPROACH AND THEY LEARNED WELL HOW TO MOVE FORWARD UNLIKE IRANIANS, TRAGICALLY THEY WILL SUCCEED WHERE NO OTHER COUNTRY WILL. IRAN WILL MOST LIKELY BE ONE OF THE MANY, NOT THE FEW.
@Shirzadegan You cannot
by jigsawnovich on Sat Nov 24, 2012 11:18 AM PST@Shirzadegan You cannot believe everything that you read, and everything that officials say. Much of what is published in the media may be regarded as part of a larger psychological operation. This is why it is important to read news published by organizations with conflicting agendas. Then the spin becomes more apparent, and the truth becomes easier to sift out from the lies and half-truths.
Iranian.com is a great resource, as it gives us an opportunity to see some direct and raw information on occasion.
I strongly disagree with you on this: "U.S prefer Assad over Sunni who took power in Egypt," if by U.S. you mean U.S. corporations and banking cartel. Assad-led Syria still has a true national bank, and they are selling oil in Euros instead of US dollars. The means that the bankers who control the US are not making money off Syria. This is the real root of war, just as it was in Libya and Iraq.

Salafists Tyranny of Iran (STI)
by Demo on Fri Nov 23, 2012 03:22 PM PSTBy the blogger's account our own country has been run by Salafists for the past 34 years and STI would have had been a better title for the regime than IRI!
Syrian regime is not a secular government & is rather run by Alawites cult. All the cults/sects in Islam like the mentioned one are man made cults. If the true Islam had been still alive, UK/US would not have dared to invade Afghanistan, Libya & Iraq. All the Middle East' leaders, including Israel, either secular or non-secular are bunch of blood suckers criminals & they all have to be toppled & prosecuted. The 'forced hijab' is a non-issue matter & is only a decoy to divert the people' attention from the main iisues of the whole area.
Big mistake

NO my friend that is NOT true. I don't know how much you're following news, but U.S foreign policy about Syria was neutral at the begining. Hilary Clinton explicitly and publically mentioned that U.S is not going to interfer in Syria affairs. Now, there was a caricator issued in those days against Clinton's speech saying :" Sorry, we don't have oil". The caricator was issued by Islamic Sunni. I was surprised that Sunni got such a position against turmoil in Syria because their demand was against Shia or Islamic ruling mullahs in Iran. They both had a position against Israel, but now, the Sunni wanted support by U.S so to overthrown Assad. Assad was against Israel and now they wanted he leaves. that was surpised for me. After a while, I found out that Sunni, who are supported by Muslim brotherhood in Egypt, pushing their agenda in Syria. If they succeed in Syria the next target will be Iraq. They're looking to establish Sunni Islamic governments in the region. They get full support by Muslim Brotherhood part in Egypt. That is the reason U.S didn't want to put her money to the pocket of bad people. U.S doesn't want to push Syria to the hands of Sunni. U.S lost best allian Hosnie Mobarak in Egypt. She doesn't want that happen in Syria. Al-Ghaedeh also is joing the rebels these days. That is the reason Assad is still around, otherwise, he would have been finished long time ago. if U.S is assured that pro democarcy and pro america people will take power, Assad would have been overthrown in a heartbeat. U.S prefer Assad over Sunni who took power in Egypt. So the game is going on till rebels who are pro america get some strength in Syria and becomes more clear that they the ones who will be in charge once Assad falls.
