What a waste of time

I don't think I've read more ignorant and hateful comments in anywhere than here, hopefully this isn't a general reflection on Iranians. Perhaps a mixture of youtube comments and white-pride/neocon ideology would describe this place. The amount of xenophobia and sexism is absolutely sickening.

Are you saying that you support the U.S. invasion of Iraq and its bombing of Afghans? And how do you know that the U.S. government, which mercilessly bombed and napalmed civilians in Vietnam during our own lifetimes" takes "extereme" measures to avoid casualties? Well, they U.S. government said it, so it must be true. Is there anything that the U.S. government says that you don't believe? It's because of these "extereme" measures that every week, U.S. planes bomb and kill Afghan women, children, and men in villages. But in your opinion, this constitues better treatment for the women there, than the "burka" or "chadoooor". I see...But, I'll go watch the History Channel to see "what a real bombing" look like, since Uncle Sam's bombings are not that real.

Jimzbund: The number of civilians killed by the U.S. government directly in Iraq, Vietnam, and Afghanistan is much, much, much higher than the 3000 people killed on 9/11. The liberals of America (Lyndon Johnson, Obama, etc) have killed more than the most backward of Muslim fanatics. There is only one country in history which has used atomic bombs...twice: the freedom-loving U.S. government. Maybe, Russia could have used it in Afghanistan against the U.S. backed-Muslim fanatics there, but they didn't. Only the U.S. has used atomic bombs. On another note, why do you try to escape from the fact that the U.S. is a major supporter of the Muslim fanatics that rule Saudi Arabia and other Sunni countries? Is Islamic fundamentalism okay when Uncle Sam is supporting it?

You are repeating the same lines that IRI and other fundamentalists are saying about US and any non-Musliom country for that matter. Al Qaeda barbequed 5000 people in new York, has killed many innocent people . Muslim funfdamentalist if they had access to a bomb they would have used it on the innocents long time ago. In your opinion, as long as victims are muslims , it is bad otherwise it is ok. As for revenge by nn muslims , it is their belief that stops them from bombings and revenge rather than lack of power. and just to make it short, Muslim will start kelling each other under Shiah , sunni, wahhabi and etc , because they are intolerant of others and think god has given them the right to cleanse the arth from " Mofesseds" whoever they might be.  I am for peace and liberty for all the humanity and get sad when see unfortunate things like bombing at a wedding happens but it was Taliban and Alqaeda who asked for it and are using civilians foir their humnan shield. Even if other religions become violent , they don't claim to be the religion of peace like Islam claims to be.

what does my comment have to do anything with U.S bombing Iraq, pakistan, or Iraq? so you think U.S planes fly around these places and on purpose pick women attending weadings and drop bomb on them? seems like a very expensive and inefficent way of fighting a war then.  Actualy they take extereme measures to avoid casualty. The issue is not U.S, or favorite scape goat on this site Isreal (excuse me, the zionoists!) The issue is the repression and havoc that islamists bring on any where they reside specialy towards women. Apparently you agree with this statement so I don't even know what you are complaining about.

I ask you once again: how would the Buddhists have been in a position to retaliate against the Taleban? Well, they would not have been, so it's a moot point. Now look at the behavior of Buddhists in Sri Lanka. Some Buddhist monks in Sri Lanka have been very supportive of the government's crackdown on the Hindu Tamils, and Buddhism has even been used to justify violence and repression there. All in all, Muslims are no more and no less to blame than others (and I say this as someone who doesn't consider himself Muslim).

When would German Jews have been in a position to bomb German churches? They were never in any position to do so. When Israelis were in a position to bomb or bulldoze mosques and churches and entire villages, they never hesitated to do so. Meron Benvenisti, the Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem from 1971-1978 details the destruction of hundreds of villages, mosques, churches, and cemeteries in his book "Sacred Landscape"....(And then there's the destruction of churches and murder of priests during the Russian Revolution, in which Russian Jews, e.g. Trotsky, Zinoviev, Kamenev, etc. played a very influential role). Now, please "go figure" that.

And MRX1: you are right, Islamists will put a "burka" or chadoooor on her head. But the freedom-loving U.S. government (friend to Saudi Islamist fanatics) would much rather drop bombs on her head and kill her, especially if she is attending a wedding, as they like to do in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.

I am a committed agnostic. The last time I set foot inside a mosque was as a tourist to Istanbul in 1996, when I visited Sultanahmet and Aya Sofya. I NEVER EVER pray or fast, and I drink alcohol. A woman who says "a battle between modernity and barbarism which Islam will lose" and in the same breath supports other Abrahamic religions just so she can get a little cash. We see these people with hateful ideologies posted on this site...

I think people like Fatima Mernissi (//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatema_Mernissi) are far more respected and influential on women in the region than hateful pathetic people like this one.
