There was a lot of speculation as to whether I was drinking Guiness and then Persian dancing.  I was not, however this time around things are a little different...

More to come...

Faramarz,

I think you are right about the Buscemi quiet deviousness.  Quite an observation.  And I really like Fereydoun Farokhzad.  He reminds me of a Persian Sean Connery which is funny because my Irish side is actually "Black Irish".  I don't know if I've explained that yet, but it came from when the Spaniards invaded Ireland and made babies with them.  So there are dark skinned and haired irishmen/welshmen or women like Sean Connery and Katherine Zeta-Jones.

And no, I don't take myself or anything I do too seriously.  It's the way to enjoy things the most in my opinion.

Anyone for Irish for Dummies?

We could start with traditional Irish dance (not River Dance, no hands movement, just the foot works), a little Poetry,  pint of Guinness and its qualities, Ulysses and Bloom's Day, Easter Rising, Jameson (not Fredrick)...

I didn't get Busceme at all, I'm getting old, maybe more Aghay Marboteh.

Persian for Dummies!

by Faramarz on

Welcome to the club Kamran and I think that you will fit right in, if you don't take yourself too seriously, which I don't think you do!

With your mixed background, I have been trying to figure out who you remind me of, and then bingo, it hit me in between the eyes!

You have the Iranian features of Fereydoun Farokhzad and the quiet deviousness of Steve Buscemi in the movie, "Fargo!"

I like it!

Nunchucks

by KamranDanceTeacher on

If you have a Koreatown or Chinatown or what have you around your neighborhood, I bought my nunchucks for $8.99.  Totally worth it.

However, "real" nunhchucks made of hard rubber, wood, or metal are actually illegal in California at least, if you do not practice a martial art that uses them.  That is why I don't have real ones.  They are made of PVC pipe and a soft covering.  But they work just fine and are a lot of fun.

Maybe I will do a How to Nunchuck Persian video...
