This is my contribution to the world through the ink, paper and a little bit of controversy!
After Watching the HBO documentary "For Neda" I am forced to revisit that horrible day (last year) and maybe it is cathartic for me to bring to the surface my sorrow by looking at my own drawing....but her story and story of many more individuals not just in Iran but ALL around the world who were/are unfairly murdered, executed, tortured, raped, burnt, mutilated, earased from memories, taken away to never be heard of again must be kept alive. As the oppressed will become the oppressors if and when they forget their own past, their own history and that lust for power will even make them delusional enough to justify their action using excuses from their past. Why don't we learn from history?
Here is what I originally wrote after I finished my drawing on June 20th, 2009:
"I was so moved and disturbed by today's video of a young woman losing her life........ her last gaze will be etched in my mind forever. I had to do something. If they cut one of these brave souls down millions more will sprout! I just found out her name was NEDA....... We will never forget you.....TO NEDAYEH AZADI dadi."

Dear Arthimis
by KavehAhangarAdel on Tue Jun 08, 2010 06:18 PM PDTI am humbled by your comments. thank you. And I absolutely love the fact that each and every person who looks at this has his/her own interpretation. It is true that we see what we feel and what moves our thoughts (what we want to see).
I simply like to celebrate life and how it grows and engulfs tragedy and cleanses the heartache and all that remains is not a specific color, ideology, logo, slogan or orientation. Simply life. Therefore, Neda and all those like her are always ALIVE in us.
The world and life around us answers injustice in its own way, like a wave! it may be a tide once but it can become a tsunami another time. When the time is right, it sets things right.... it may not be in a way we would like it to be (eye for an eye) We have seen it in history time and time again. I may become frustrated and even curse the world (as I did in my blog) but I have learned to turst that natural cycle. All I am is a drop in that wave.

Beautiful work!
by Arthimis on Mon Jun 07, 2010 06:13 PM PDTDear Kaveh,
What a beautiful mind and drawing of our "Neda y Iran" ...Hezaar Aafareen bar shoma...
I noticed that the Green color in our flag seems to be pushing Neda's face into the Red and Blood in the rest of our flag at the bottom!
This is true in some unfortunate way..., if it was intentional! The leaders of "Green" are those who were responsible for their own invasion and occupation of Iran in 1979 to present!!!
Iran and True Iranians, deserve far far far better and greater human beings/ leadres to Free and Reperesent Iran to begin with... Neda's and other nedas unjust deaths by I.R. will forever remain as a wound in our Iranian hearts... We will bring those guilty, pay them back for their evil crimes and we will FREE IRAN at last.Be omide Parvardegaar Boozorg...
Ba Sepaas az kare besyaar ziba y shoma.
Thank you,

Freedom is a beautiful thing
by KavehAhangarAdel on Sun Jun 06, 2010 08:59 AM PDTAzadeh jan, I appreciate your comments and respect your views. I also respect your views I_support_Khamenie. Respect for Freedom to celebrate life and death is a right not a privilege. Growth and life is present in all my work, one has to look a little closer to find it. Neda was, and IS life.
resepectfully,

Lutfan Nedaye Azizra mosadere nakon
by i_support_khamenie on Sat Jun 05, 2010 11:54 PM PDTShe lived in Iran and died in Iran.
I prefer to celebrate her life rather than focus on her death. I'm sure her family prefers that.
Funny how HBO featured Rudi Bakhtiar, news anchor for Fox News....
God bless her and her mom and Iran
Bravo
