I wished Stanley Kubrick was alive today.

Dr. Strangelove would agree!

Cartoons generally don't have titles.... but

by KavehAhangarAdel on

for the sake of posting in a blog I have to submit a title. It is always open to interpretation. But the point, is about Ahmadinejad not Dr. Strangelove. Sargord Pirouz, I appreciate your comment and believe that scene, though slim pickens, is actually an extremely pivotal one.  Roozbeh_Gilani, I agree, 2001, to this day is an amazing film visually as well as substance!  Thanks for your copmments both.

Roozbeh_Gilani

This is actually a really funny and timely cartoon!

Thanks for posting.

I do remember seeing this film as part of series of movies by Kubric shown at my college at London University more than 21 years ago when I had just turned 18, and  started my studies there. We had to pay only 2 pounds (abour $3) as students to watch the entire series, a great bargain!  I actually prefered space odyssy 2001, was mesmerized by straus music and the entire technicality of the film.

Sargord Pirouz

Oh.... it's that Slim

Oh.... it's that Slim Pickens scene.

Have to say, Kaveh, the illustration is difficult to associate with the scene. But thanks for clarifying.

Sargord Pirouz, if you remember....

the film. One of my favorite of all time. The reference is to the premise of the film not Dr. Strangelove himself. I believe "riding the bomb down" should jot your memory.  If not, here is an image:

Cheers.

Sargord Pirouz

huh?

I don't get it.

And exactly where in the illustration is the Dr. Strangelove connection?
