by divaneh on Thu Jan 20, 2011 04:35 PM PSTVery crative. One day we will have normal day and nights. Thanks for sharing.
Thank You for this cartoon.
by Roozbeh_Gilani on Thu Jan 20, 2011 08:08 AM PSTWe are going to see a lot more hangings and shootings and chopping and torturing by this islamist regime this year I am afraid. What happened in Tunisia has obviously triggered alarm bells at ahmadinezhad and khamenei's royal courts....

by KavehAhangarAdel on Thu Jan 20, 2011 07:33 AM PST@Yolanda: I appreciate your words. We can all do something in any way we know how. As long as it is from the heart.
@Omid Hast: Thank you, you are very kind. My depiction is not as Horrific as what the mothers and fathers of those slain feel. I have to live with that thought.
@Azadeh: Azadeh jan, when death and murder becomes a number we lose our humanity. In addition to the reality at hand, my sadness is at our complacency..... the numbness. I share your feeling. thank you
@Shifteh Ansari: I am glad you saw the hope that I feel as well despite the horror. thank you.
@Esfand Ashena: I agree. It reminds of Shamloo's poem: In this dead-end (July 1979) روزگار غریبی است نازنین
But I am hopeful....... that our humanity will prevail depsite the color of the sky.

Thank you
by Shifteh Ansari on Wed Jan 19, 2011 11:32 PM PSTThank you Kaveh. What I like the most about your excellent cartoon is that even though there is a big difference between the scenes of a typical day in the two places you have illustrated, the grass on the Iranian side continues to be green. Thank you for having hope that our land will continue and prosper, and that our country has not become barren as a result of all the shed blood.
Omid Hast, one execution every eight hours was last week's rate. With the known executions of this week, the rate may have droped to an execution every 7 or 7.5 hours. And most unfortunately, let's not forget about the un-reported executions which have been taking place inside prisons of late, most prominently inside Mashad's Vakilabad Prison, as reported by the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran. //www.iranhumanrights.org/2010/10/executions-...
So very tragic :-(
by Azadeh Azad on Wed Jan 19, 2011 09:51 PM PSTThank you, Kaveh jan. 1 execution every 8 hours! That's disgusting!!!
Azadeh
An absolutely fantastic cartoon (in a horrific way)!
by Omid Hast on Wed Jan 19, 2011 09:42 PM PSTOf course, this cartoon refers to "In the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the average one person is executed every eight hours."
Please keep up the good work.
