Death is continuum of life…
"Not wanting to hurt those we would be leaving behind with our death is certainly one reason we want to stay alive, but beyond that every biological organism has a basic instinct to preserve itself. That drive to survive is a deep built-in program that every living being has.But we are not solely defined by our biology, our real nature is the silent consciousness that remains the same through all the physical changes we go through from infancy to adolescence, to adulthood to old age. Our true essence continues in the interim between the death of one body and the birth of the next. When we know ourselves to be that pure consciousness and not the body, then we will not fear the aging of the body nor its death even though the body’s instinct for self-preservation will still be intact."
Love,
Deepak

وصف بهشت براي مومنان
FaramarzSun Oct 17, 2010 04:23 PM PDT
Prophet Deepak
by comrade on Sun Oct 17, 2010 03:51 PM PDTI have watched Deepak for many years now. what I don't like about him and his ilk is their reluctance to utter the phrase, "I don't know". The problem is that while he rejects organized religion, he has almost formed a religion of his own, as any settled philosophy is a religion anyway.
Never increase, beyond what is necessary, the number of entities required to explain anything.

by Khar on Sun Oct 17, 2010 03:03 PM PDTI wish you had more inelegance in you not to refer to Shazdeh and I in such way that you did in your last comment. Anyways, although this blog is not about Virgins in Quran and its more about 3 western religious dogmas, its presenting a fresh look at the life itself, Deepak indicates that Death is continuum of life...transformation of life from one form to another, and as basic scince rule: "Matter, is neither created nor destroyed, but changes f from one form to another." I suggest you watch the 3 videos once again.
Now lets go back, reluctantly, to your favorite subject: "Virgins". Following are the direct quotes from Quran also Hadiths.
_Va Salaam
VIRGINS (HOURIS)
Mohammed knew that sex would sell very well among the group of his lecherous followers who were motivated to fight battles by the promise of sex slaves and booty. By constantly emphasizing to his followers that they would get untouched virgins in Paradise, Mohammed is clearly expressing his "high" opinion of the institution of marriage and his fairness to women. Once the followers go to heaven, they can conveniently ditch their wives for the fresher and more pleasurable sexual encounters with 'Houris' (beautiful virgins). Not only that, the poor wives who gave up their virginity for the pleasure of their husbands do not get even one Male Sex Bomb. But wait, Allah is all merciful! He gives the wives the rare honour of watching their husbands deflower those 72 Houris (virgins) and 28 young pre-pubescent boys.
The relevant verses from the Quran are:
Quran 78:31
As for the righteous, they shall surely triumph. Theirs shall be gardens and vineyards, and high- bosomed virgins for companions: a truly overflowing cup.
Quran 37:40-48
...They will sit with bashful, dark-eyed virgins, as chaste as the sheltered eggs of ostriches.
Quran 44:51-55
...Yes and We shall wed them to dark-eyed houris. (beautiful virgins)
Quran 52:17-20
...They shall recline on couches ranged in rows. To dark-eyed houris (virgins) we shall wed them...
Quran 55:56-57
In them will be bashful virgins neither man nor Jinn will have touched before. Then which of the favours of your Lord will you deny ?"
Quran 55:57-58
Virgins as fair as corals and rubies. Then which of the favours of your Lord will you deny ?"
Quran 56:7-40
...We created the houris (the beautiful women) and made them virgins, loving companions for those on the right hand.. "
Quran 55:70-77
"In each there shall be virgins chaste and fair... Dark eyed virgins sheltered in their tents whom neither man nor Jin will have touched before..
In the Hadiths, Mohammed goes one step further and expands the promise of virgins to include a free sex market where there is no limit of the number of sexual partners. Women and young boys are on display as if in a fruit market where you can choose the desired ripeness.
Quote from Hadiths
Al Hadis, Vol. 4, p. 172, No. 34
Ali reported that the Apostle of Allah said, "There is in Paradise a market wherein there will be no buying or selling, but will consist of men and women. When a man desires a beauty, he will have intercourse with them."
YOUNG BOYS
Homosexuality was and is widely practised in Islamic conutries. To please the homosexuals among his followers he promised them pre-pubescent boys in Paradise. So after committing plunder, loot, rape and murder in this life, the followers of Islam get "rewarded" by untouched virginal youths who are fresh like pearls.
The relevant verses from the Koran are:
Quran 52:24
Round about them will serve, to them, boys (handsome) as pearls well-guarded.
Quran 56:17
Round about them will serve boys of perpetual freshness.
Quran 76:19
And round about them will serve boys of perpetual freshness: if thou seest them, thou wouldst think them scattered pearls.
Midwesty: the real problem with Islamists like you is that
by Shazde Asdola Mirza on Sun Oct 17, 2010 07:41 PM PDTYou probably don't even pray, read Koran, go to a mosque, listen to a mullah, look at the Shiite Hadith ... with open eyes, ears and minds. It is funny how you have been frantically Googling to even get the Shiite spelling right!
Shiite and Islamism for you is just another excuse and tactic to fight your good old war with the Wicked West, which you can't ever forgive for its freedoms and personal liberties.
PS: "in which a small part is Hadith"? Now, who is BSing whom? Shiite Hadith volumes and crazy hallucinations are 1000 times more than the whole Koran and Sunni traditions put together!
fidelio,
by Midwesty on Sun Oct 17, 2010 02:05 PM PDTi second your comment and as a result I don't bullsh*t things like Khar and SAM do. I simply say I don't know! Or I bring both opposing sides to the table and tell people to choose! (IFFFFF I am hallucinating enough to think that I am in charge of guiding people).

Deepak is very bold, unconventional, and sophisticated!
Deepak is right....(sometimes) religions create divisions......the "love" talked about by Rumi is universal and ecumenical!
Thank you for sharing!
It doesnt matter if its 72 virgins
by fidelio5 on Sun Oct 17, 2010 01:44 PM PDTor 72 grapes, or 72 pillars, its all false witness.
Islam. Christianity, Judaism, and even the drivel peddled by this Deepak are all equal and equivalent glimpses of the untrue.
No one knows what lies beyond.
khar...
by Midwesty on Sun Oct 17, 2010 01:44 PM PDTgive me a reference on what verse and sourah in Koran.
Bahar-ol-anvar is not an scholarly text as is mafateeh-ol-jenan and many more Shia books which are only scriptures with the purpose of providing a collection of Hadith's in which the validity of the Hadith's are left to the researchers to find out.
Shia has 4 resources, Koran, Sonat (in terms of the methodologies in Islam in which a small part is the Hadith), Common Sense (Wisdom), and Logic.
None of these resources can not contradict the other.
So I guess I am done with this discussion since I can imagine what you and your fellows are coming back with.

by Khar on Sun Oct 17, 2010 01:19 PM PDTin Quran its referring to them as multitude of "Hooryian Beheshti", 72 is perhaps a symbolic number. Also refer to Shazdeh Comment: "72 palaces, each with 72 halls, each with 72 carpets and on each carpet 72 virgins!". Now, my question to you is; are you a Moslem? If you are, read your beloved holy book again
....and yes I'm an Iranian too
OK - which one of my "usual" nicknames do you prefer, Midwesty?

by Midwesty on Sun Oct 17, 2010 11:36 AM PDTI don't believe i have ever striked a conversation with you ( at least not under this Shazdeh name) but you sound utterly too freindly. So as I said the word is not Shiite as You are calling me your fellow?!?! Didn't you have time to go back under the usual nickname this time? Now if you be a good clown and come back under your usual name I might give you an answer that you would put all your nicknames up for retirement!
Midwesty is "right"
by Shazde Asdola Mirza on Sun Oct 17, 2010 11:23 AM PDTIf I may interject ... it is not 72 virgins!
Refer to Alameh Majlesi's Bahar al-Anvar:
"72 palaces, each with 72 halls, each with 72 carpets and on each carpet 72 virgins!
Fellow Shiite: don't sell yourself short :o)
well said Khar jaan
by Shazde Asdola Mirza on Sun Oct 17, 2010 11:20 AM PDTThe choice is ours, but the path is scary. Any unfinished business, and one may end up where it all started. The best to wish for is a fulfilled life, with no regrets and no returns ;-)
Khar where the heck...
by Midwesty on Sun Oct 17, 2010 11:18 AM PDTThis 72 virgins is coming from ( other than the Zionist literature and conversation). You are an Iranian, arent you? So show me any Shia ( the correct word is Shia not shiit or shiiat or shiiiiiiiit) scholary lit that talks about 72 virgins?

by Khar on Sun Oct 17, 2010 11:04 AM PDTComing back in a different level of consciousness is at heart of existence, plus it beats spending an eternity with "72 virgins" in heaven, or in the depth of burning "hell".
