Sewer System
by jirandoust on Fri Aug 05, 2011 03:56 AM PDTBefore getting on that Iranian culture bashing band wagon, look at the video clip one more time and notice what you see in water is raw sewage. Due to lack of a proper sewer system, little towns and villages around Karaj River dump their raw sewage directly into it. This is a city planning, and by extension government issue. There needs to be a sewer system in place to collect the raw sewage and treat it before it's dumped in the river.
Yes, people need to be educated not just in Iran but all over the world to not polute the environment. But please don't use anything and everything to bash Iranians and their culture.

If the IRI put 1/1000,000 of the effort that its puts into
by Onlyiran on Wed Aug 03, 2011 08:25 PM PDTenforcing hejab into taking care of the environment, we would have the cleanest environment on the planet!!! Think about it this way: women in the remotest villages in Iran, where there are no Pasdars around for miles, are afraid to leave their homes without proper hejab because of the fear that the IRI has put in their hearts. Just imagine if the same was done for the environment. But the IRI has other priorities.
Before the revolution
by Mehrban on Wed Aug 03, 2011 07:08 PM PDTIf I am not mistaken, the Karaj dam was so clean people used to water ski there. Maybe even the king himself water skied there.

by Souri on Wed Aug 03, 2011 06:07 PM PDTI didn't talk about Somalia or Yemen, I gave you examples of the countries with greater civilization, like Iran. Believe me I have been at the beach in all those countries and never been able to swim in those seas , so much the water was full of trashes and wastes.
I may haven't been in Iran lately, but I know what I saw in this video, is a déjà vu, in the West.
I was going to say education, education, and education!
by Abgousht on Wed Aug 03, 2011 05:18 PM PDTOf course law and order, reinforcement of the law, economy, and other factors play important role in the littering of the environment urban and rural in general!
However, this problem in Iran has significantly increased over the past 33 years and that is to defy the Islamic regime!
If you have not been to Iran lately
by Cost-of-Progress on Wed Aug 03, 2011 03:53 PM PDTplease do not comment on this video. You really do not know how bad it is.

Totally Agree, and
by Cost-of-Progress on Wed Aug 03, 2011 03:50 PM PDTI was in this very spot a few weeks ago.
what this video does not show is the amount of trash and garbage along the roadsides, and everywhere esle along the road. Travel up north and into the beautiful mountain roads and be amzed at the amount of trash that has collected there.
While this is not particualrly related to the islamic parasites, it does reflect the lack of civility that we Iranians claim we have.
The government could give a rat's ass about this, or they could mount an agressive campagin to curb the urge to litter. Educate them and they'll know how they're being screwed by the divine, so it won't happen.
You should see the cities.......

Dear Khers
by Souri on Wed Aug 03, 2011 03:32 PM PDTYou just didn't travel much!
Go to Italy and Spain and Yugoslavia and Mexico ....and .....and......to see the same picture!
The problem is that for many of the Iranians-Americans, there's no other country in the world, but just America and Iran.
For
every single thing, we are comparing the conditions in these two
countries, while many European and Latino countries do have similar
situation.
Take care.
All over the place
by MRX1 on Wed Aug 03, 2011 01:28 PM PDTThis is just one case among many! take a trip out side of Tehran and you see garbage thrown just about every where. Go to villages and you see all sort of grabage in every river or water stream. If there are consturctions some where you will find garbage from that thrown some where else in the open. list goes on and on. When it comes to modernity unfortunatley our culture is quite weak.
