In my recent visit to Beautiful Carmel, in northern California, I came across the sign of this Boutique.
"Is the owner is an Iranian?" That was the first thing I asked the salesperson, and she replied "yes, she is an Iranian woman, name..."!
"Do you know what it means?", I questioned the blond behind the counter. "No", she replied, "but I think it is an exotic french name!"
When I explained to her what this semi french word means in Farsi/Persian, she cracked up and looked at me with amusement.
As I was leaving, she grabbed her cell phone with excitement to call someone about the news!
I turned around and said; "By the way, tell your boss she really is Divane for choosing such name"!
A minute later as I was walking around the area, I thought to myself, well, maybe she is sending a message to all the rich people of Carmel, "Ha, you people are so Divane, for paying these ridiculous $$$$$$ for my stuff"!
Smart Gal!!!
