Nasrin Sotoudeh Charged, Over 1000 Signatures & Numerous Statements for Her Release

October 21, 2010- Nasrin Sotoudeh, human rights lawyer and women’s rights activist was arrested on September 4, 2010 and has been on hunger strike since September 24th. She is denied the right to contact her family and her lawyer.

On Monday, the Fair Family Law website reported that Nasrin Sotoudeh’s attorney was finally able to view the interrogation case file. Branch 3 of interrogations in Evin’s court stated that an indictment was issued for Nasrin Sotoudeh and her file has been sent to court.

Nasrin Sotoudeh was indicted on three charges:

  1. Acting against national security
  2. Gathering and colluding with intent to harm state security
  3. Cooperating with the Defenders of Human Rights Center

Recently two statements were issued signed by nearly 1600 people calling for the immediate and unconditional release of Nasrin Sotoudeh.
