Update
by masoudA on Fri Jan 29, 2010 10:49 AM PSTFirst UN sent me this response:
Greetings from the Public Inquiries Team.
Kindly note that any proposal to be considered by the Members of the United Nations must first be presented by an official representative (Ambassador) of a Member State, duly inscribed on the Organisation’s agenda and voted by the Membership. Please send your proposal to any country’s representative office before the United Nations.
We hope this information is useful to you, and thank you for taking the initiative to write to us.
Best regards,
Public Inquiries Unit
Department of Public Information
United Nations

Then I sent them a note saying:
What about cases where the member state is the one committing the crimes? Does UN have an observation entity to protect the "Nations" from the criminal "States"?
sincerely
They responded:
We have recieved many inquieries abouty this and will look into the matter!!!!
Will distribute.

Masoud - here are more ways to exert pressure
by MM on Wed Jan 27, 2010 10:10 AM PSTYou can contact the UN General secretary in three ways. Plus ask the Amnesty International to exert pressure as well (#4).
1. Contact as Masoud indicated: Contact UN
this message cannot be more than 200 characters, so make it very short and to the point.
2. form-letter in progress by the Iranian American Lawyers Association (IALA) on the protection of the demonstrators on the streets of Iran
//www.ialawyers.org/resolution-form.php
3. you can write a letter to the General Secretary at the following address:. The contents of the email/letter can be as short as the following (copy or make your own modification too):
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay
UN Headquarters
First Avenue at 46th Street
New York, NY 10017, USA
Dear General Secretary,
I am writing you to please keep a vigil on the treatment of the demonstrators on the streets of Iran. In the past, peacefull demonstrations have been quelled by rough treatment / shootings on the streets as well as horrible conditions of the demonstrators that were taken as prisoners. Many demonstrators have lost their lives/injured with countless relatives living in fear and anxiety. Thank you.
4. Click on the link below to contact the Amnesty International in your area and write a similar email

by masoudA on Wed Jan 27, 2010 07:14 AM PSTWhat foreign intervension? This is what UN is for. United Nations. BTW - do you realize what you are saying is exactly what IR would say?
Absolutely not!
by The Phantom Of The Opera on Tue Jan 26, 2010 05:43 PM PSTWe should not ask for a foreign intervention in any shape and form. Let these words be spread too.
The Pahlavis, all mullahs, and all public figures associated with the Green Movement must disclose the source and the amount of their wealth/income.
