ZIONISM - WHY ARABS & MUSLIMS CALL THE ISRAELIS

Ever wondered why some Arab & Muslims pundits like our friend here jalelo call Israelis Zionist? You will be surprised to learn the real agenda behind it.

First a brief background.

Judaism was first introduced about 4500 years ago. Christianity (was born) 2008 years ago, and Islam, about 1400 years ago. In fact Qur'an itself, writes about Jews presence in today's Israel & Jerusalem in period pre-dating Islam.

The name “Palestine” was given by the Roman, after the destruction of the Jewish Second Temple, and forced evacuation of the Jews in 73 AD, from the present state Israel.

Muslims also know that, Jesus himself was a Jew, whom had lived, and preached in Jerusalem, and its surroundings.

Zionism was conceived in 1870 by Theodore Hertzl, a liberal Jewish newspaper editor, in Vienna, Austria. Zionism was a POLITICAL movement when, after witnessing the fervent anti Semitism, and continuous persecution of the Jews in Europe, Hertzl had decided to form the Zionist movement and have Jews return to the land of their ancestors in Israel, where they can live in peace.

Now, the root of the Middle East conflict:

The main argument by which Palestinians, Arabs, and other Muslims make against Israel is, their attempt to demonstrate their self proclaimed “ancestral” presence in Jerusalem and its surroundings. Thus raise the specter and legitimacy of their claim to the land predating the Jews.

Notice that, in the Arab propaganda, any Israeli Jew is called “Zionist”. Arabs repeatedly use the buzz words as “Foreigners” “European Settlers” “Colonial Occupiers”, “Racist” “Apartheid”. All that, in an effort to draw parallel between the Israelis, and the Afrikaans settlers in South Africa. They are conveniently oblivious to the fact that almost 60% of these so-called “European Settlers” had emigrated from the same Arab & Islamic countries throughout the Middle East and North Africa, fleeing persecution from the local Muslim populations .

You see!, If those Arab pundits would call the Israelis JEWS, they then validate and legitimize Israel’s and the Jews ancestry and historical right to the land of Israel. Subsequently discredit their own claim of religious and ancestral precedence and sovereignty over Jerusalem. So, by repeatedly perpetuating the name “Zionist” upon the Israelis, these Arabs attempt to DE-LEGITIMIZE Judaism and the state of Israel altogether, in an attempt to render it as a mere political movement born only 130 years ago.

Good and Honest Muslims conveniently choose to ignore the facts that, Jews had introduced the Ten Commandments to the world more then 2000 years before the introduction of Qur'an itself. Or the fact that Jesus had lived and preached some 650 years before Mohammed was even born. Or the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls- a set of documents created some 1000 years before the birth of Islam. These scrolls were written in ancient Hebrew Language - the very language written and spoken by Israelis today.

More then 18% of the Israeli citizens are Muslims and Christians, all of whom are the same Palestinians from the 1948 Israeli Independence War. They never left their homes in which they still live to present date. In fact they are the ONLY Muslims in the Middle East region who live in democracy and enjoy freedom of expression. Despite that, Arabs continue to accuse “the Zionists” as “Racists” and “exclusionary” society, practicing apartheid policies against non-Jews.

In regards to “Zionism” itself. Arab & Muslim pundits bark at the wrong tree. After fulfilling its mission to repatriate Jews back into their ancestral land. Zionism has been replaced by modern State of Israel. Zionism is just a passe', a slogan used more by Israel's detractors, then the Israeli themselves – almost never mentioned by new generation of Israelis.

Israel occupies 0.17% of the land in Middle East & Gulf region, and STILL Israelis are named by Arabs & Muslims, as “Colonial Occupiers” Or called “Immigrants who should go back to their country of origin”. If one uses that logic, the late Yasser Arafat himself the symbol and embodiment of the Palestinian agenda, himself was born and grew up in Egypt. If he did not “go back to his country of birth, why should any Israeli be required to do so?

A Bunch Of Bigots

by Kaveh Nouraee on

Mehdi, it appears that you wasted your time writing a piece on this subject.

No matter what, there will always be a group of people, who have made themselves known here, that are staunch opponents of the existence of Israel.

They subscribe and adhere to all of the negative stereotypes surrounding Jews and Judaism, with one of these a*holes going so far as to call the Holocaust an "excuse" to establish the country in 1948.

An EXCUSE!

These people are beneath contempt. They hate Jews, hate Bahais and hold themselves superior.

They are not students of history, and they are not versed in the truth. They choose to ignore it, and they are doomed to repeat it.

They will always blame Jews and Bahais for their own failures in life, which are many. Those failures will continue, so long as they refuse to be accountable and take responsibility for the decisions they make. They have never looked at themsleves in the mirror, for if they have, they would be sickened by what they see.

I, for one, am sickened whenever I see them.

Iranian Muslim

Israel vs. Occupation

by Iranian Muslim on

Zionism has many forms. Some are spiritual, pacifist and humanist, and some violent and xenophobic. Political Zionism has fulfilled its goal in Israel proper of establishing a state where Jews can thrive and where all citizens are (almost) treated equally under the law. Benny Morris acknowledges that this process involved the expulsion of many native inhabitants. This is incontrovertible, and Morris laments that these expulsions did not go far enough....
----------
I oppose the violent expulsions that midwifed Israel proper but I do not oppose this country as it currently exists.  My contention is with the hitnakhluyot, settlements built outside the Green Line.  Here is where a violent form of religo-political Zionism is making life a living hell for the Palestinians who are its daily victims.
----------
These settlers, by slowly expanding into the West Bank, are reducing the chances that a viable Palestine will ever emerge.  Their goal is the gradual cleansing of the West Bank (and Gaza) of its Arab residents.  They are sweeping Palestinian land from under the feet of its people, and they are threatening the future of Israel by making a two state solution impossible.
----------
Mehdi Mazloom does Israel and her citizens a dangerous disservice by conflating their country with the Occupation.  By failing to make this distinction, he is ensuring that the delegitimization of an immoral Occupation contributes to the delegitimization of Israel herself.

Niloufar Parsi

How boring!

by Niloufar Parsi on

Yet another zionist supporter playing gymnastics with the truth, re-writing history, and denying the ugly truth about zionism's inherent racism and colonialism. These are the real revisionists with nothing positive to contribute other than to continue on with the oppression of Palestinians.

We have heard all this before, and none of it changes the simple facts on the ground:

- Zionists invaded Palestinian land and set up a colony through terrorism and ethnic cleansing;

- Palestinians have every right to continue their struggle with Arab and world support;

- Israel is an embarrassment to Jews and Judaism, and there will be no peace for Jews in Palestine for as long as Israel exists as a racist Apartheid state.

There has to be a regime change in Israel with a single democratic state for Palestinians and Jews and other religious minorities alike in Palestine and with Jerusalem under an international mandate.

No need for more bloodshed, racism and exclusivity.

Peace!

read the Herzl Paper or any of the Zionist Congress agenda, otherwise you would have known how disgusting Zionism really is :-)

Here's a reference for you:

The Documentary History of the Middle East Conflict, by Walter Laqueur  and Barry Rubin editors, is just a collection of DOCUMENTS.

If you are used to www. kinda reading only, check the book at

www.penginputnam.com, listed under history books.

The first quote AGAIN was from :

"Theodor Herzl: The Jewish State (1896)"

The second AGAIN was from:

"The First Zionist Congress: The Basle Declaration (August 1897)

and here were the quotes again :-)

Herzl paper on craetion of a Jewsih State:

...Here two territories comes under consideration, Palestine and
Argentine. In both countries important experiments in colonization have
been made, though on the mistaken principle of a gradual infiltration
of Jews.

Abd here's  from the First Zionist congress:

The aim of Zionisn is to create for the Jewish people a home in
Palestine secured by public law. The congress contemplates the
following means to the attainment of this end:

1. The promotion, on suitable lines, of colonization of Palestine by Jewish agricultural and industrial workers.

21% of Israel's population is made of non-Jews. where these minorities have 10 members in the legislative body representing their interest. A member in the Cabinet, and a Judge sitting on the country's highest court.

After 2000 years, this is the first time in Jerusalem's history which all the religions are respected and their respective believers have full access to their house of prayers.

Quote: - why would God promise people some land and when and at which notary public the dead was transferred to them?

The "Notery Public" was Unite nations. The date was 14, May 1948.

Quote: - why Israel is the second most resented country in the world.

The fact is, Israel has more friends and allies around the  world then despotic regime of Iran. If your statement would have been true, people would not do business with Israel. They do.

and many other questions that have been repeated endlessly. Their usual
answer is that those who ask these are Nazis! What a bunch of miserable
people. No wonder they are resented EVERYWHERE.

Since you can't stand up like man(or woman) to put an intelligent and convincing argument. So insults are the better way. Israelis are far happier and content with their lives then many innocent and oppressed Arabs and Muslims throughout the region.

There is nothing wrong:

- Nothing wrong with any people thinking they are "chosen people";

- Nothing wrong if jews are proud of who they are and say so every chance they get.  That's good.

-  Nothing wrong even if they try to ruin you once they realize you are not supporting their cause.

These, and many other generailzations, are anti-semitic, in my opinion.

However, what is not anti semitic is to object to injustice and subjugation of an inncocent population (palestinians), or objecting to spreading lies against a very large segment of humanity (muslims and anyone who comes from a muslim country), or against a conspiracy to black-list their opponents by deceit, or being outraged at how the zionists are provoking world powers to attack Iran in an ever expanding war against their neighbors. These actions will end up in disaster for millions of people and zionists themselves.

One more thing people should bear in mind, people like Mehdi, zion, etc. do not represent majority of Israelis, let alone majority of jews.  These are extreme right likudites who have taken over Israel the same way neo-conservatives have taken over US policy.

What you might not realize that Jews and Zionist are one and the same when it comes to the issue of Israel. Any Jew even the ones that do not practice believe that they are of a chosen race. They jump in any conversation to let everyone know that they are Jews and a cut above all. They will do anything in their power to ruin you if they realize you are not subservient to their cause.

Do not mix Iranian Jews in this mixture. Iranian Jews have been manipulated but they are still good Iranians. You have very little knowledge of Palestine and the issue of land invasion.

You are defending the oppressor and you will not even get a thank you note from a single Jew.

You will better serve the true good jews if you change your view and reflect the truth, of course once you read all the details that JALELO has give you and I know it can run one crazy to read all of it.....

Don't be ignorant!

by Camron (not verified) on

The Arabs have no reason to be mad that the Zionists conquered their land, stripped them of their resources to survive, and are performing the second Holocaust as we speak? You make it seem as if the Palestinians are being completely irrational regarding their feelings about foreign invaders entering their land, killing their youth, and committing countless atrocities on the Palestinian people. I do not hold the neighboring Arab countries in the same regard, but what is going on in Palestine is unquestionably rooted in the conquest of Israel and the practice of Zionism, which is annihilating the Palestinians daily. Do not just sit in front of your television and watch the news. Read books. Don't be ignorant!

They only pick and choose what they want to reply to, or what they want to see or hear. These are of course the same firms that were directing the Nazis on how to make germany and Hitler appear good - the falsehood propaganda firms. Not one of these ZioNazis will ever discuss:

- what "Chosen People" means

- why they need to use Americaan advanced weapons to segregate peope based on their religion

- why would God promise people some land and when and at which notary public the dead was transferred to them?

Israel NEVER sought Justice!

Fariba
wrote:

"The Jewish people lived in Palestine 2000 years ago. It is
understandable that, in their desperate search for safety and security,
they wanted to return to this land, especially after the Holocaust."

That is the funny reasoning the Zionists give to Americans who
don't know real history of Zionism and creation of Israel and hope
people would accept it as a FACT.

First, the ancient Palestine, the land of Canaan, has been
inhabited by many other groups, prior and after the Jewish kingdom:
Greeks, Hebrews, Christians, Pagans, Persians, Arabs, and old Canaanite
tribes. In that 5000 years, Jewish kingdom of David and Soloman only
lasted 73 years!!
Even if you consider the entire on-off Jewish kingdom
from conquest of David to fall of Judah (1000BC-586BC), you get about
400 years. Somehow, the present day Zionist made that more important
than 1300 years of CONSECUTIVE occupation of the land by Muslim and
Christian Palestinians, and think the repetition of that absurd Jewish
claim in US congress and US media actually gives the jews a RIGHT to
other people's land. That is as absurd a basis for land claim as is the
God's promise to his chosen favorites.

Secondly, Herzl (father of modern Zionism) was considering some land in either Palestine -Or-ARGENTINE for a Jewish State.

See, Zionism was a racist scheme born at the end of 19th century,
early 20th century, which is historically the period of colonialism and
settlements. Its purpose was no different than European settlers in
colonial regions that reached Africa, Asia, and Latin America. And,
like other colonial cases, it was the poor and disadvantage Jews who
were supposed to go first and do the dirty work. {called Society of
Jews}. I will quote for you from the article of Herzl in which he
proposes the idea of "The Jewish State" in 1896 for the first time:

"The plan : The whole plan is in its essence perfectly simple, as
it must necessarily be if it is to come within the comprehension of
all. Let the sovereignty be granted to us over a portion of the globe
large enough to satisfy the rightful requirement of a nation; the rest
we shall manage ourselves. The creation of a new state is neither
ridiculous nor impossible.....The government of all countries scourged
by anti-Semitism will be keenly interested in assisting us to obtain
the sovereignty we want. { can you see how ironically anti-Semitism is
similar to Zionism in principle, and is being used to create it?! i.e.,
let's separate European Jews and send them away, rather than change
individual country's anti-Semitic practices; let alone that the Jews
who lived in Palestine for centuries, did equally well with Muslims and
Christians there. }

...The plan, simple in design, but complicated in execution, will
be carried out by two agencies: The Society of Jews and The Jewish
Company

...We must not imagine the departure of Jews to be a sudden one.
It will be gradual,{but} continuous, and will cover many decades ...
The emigrants lowest in economic scale will be slowly followed by those
of higher grade...

...Should the powers {in this case Britain, which was the mother of
many other colonies, and the superpower du jour, the same role Israel
sees in US now} declare themselves willing to admit our sovereignty
over a neutral piece of land, then the Society {of Jews} will enter
into negotiations for the possession of this land. Here two territories
comes under consideration, Palestine and Argentine. In both countries
important experiments in colonization have been made, though on the
mistaken principle of a gradual infiltration of Jews.
An infiltration
is bound to end badly. It continues till the inevitable moment when the
native population feels itself threatened, and forces the government to
stop a further influx of Jews. Immigration is consequently futile
unless we have the sovereign right to continue such immigration..."

As you see that holocaust was just a later EXCUSE to complete
colonization of Palestine, which was the clear objective of the Zionist
movement from 1896.

Later, in The Biltmore Program- Towards a Jewish State (
May,11,1942), Ben Gurion went to US, organizing American Zionists to
reformulate this forceful Jewish immigration using the Nazi persecution
as the pretext to continue Herzl recipe of 1896!! This was followed by
the recommendations of the Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry (1946),
where the jews took only its 6th recommendation seriously: more massive
Jewish immigration without native acquiescence. They discarded the part
that prohibited the Jewish demand of forceful immigration to create a
Jewish majority!

So, there was no original justice in mind in the beginning that you think has backfired now!

And, there's no good intention from either Israelis or Americans
who have extended the "peace process" just to give Israel enough time
to gobble up as much of Palestine as they can.

One thing that Herzl didn't know back in 1896 is that colonialism
and apartheid would DIE in the 20th century. Israel and Zionism , as
the last pillars of it will follow suit. That's why everyone talks so
nervously about EXISTENCE of illegitimate state of Israel, and talks
about 60 years as if it the most important part of the 5000 year
history of that region! That 60 years is just a historical BLINK,
typical of all historical aberrations, and will be at most another
blink before it disappears in the dust bin of time by history's
mandate. South African racists spoke with no less of an arrogance than
Israelis today.

Mazloom, most Israeli Jews are ZIONISTS

by Jaleho on

I am glad that at least you learnt that it is a good thing to distinguish Zionism from Judaism. Furthermore, you seem to be unconciously realizing that Zionism is a "stinky" thing and it smell seems to be starting to reach your nose like it has to the rest of humanity :-)

But, your note here shows that you still don't understand the nature of Zionism. Zionism IS INDEED NOTHING BUT A COLONIAL SCHEME, just like what the European designs in South America and Africa and yes, apatheid south Africa.

To show you the above, I have already bothered to type relevant  parts of Herzl orginal paper of 1896 about a Jewish state. I will copy it later again, maybe you'll bother to read. Pay attention that Herzl asks the European colonizing  powers to be granted a piece of land in ARGENTINE -or-PALESTINE for creation of a Jewish state.

And, here's the exact first item of the First Zionist Congress, The Basle Declaration of 1897, right after they agree that land to be in Palestine rather than Argentine:

The aim of Zionisn is to create for the Jewish people a home in Palestine secured by public law. The congress contemplates the following means to the attainment of this end:

1. The promotion, on suitable lines, of colonization of Palestine by Jewish agricultural and industrial workers.

The entire thing is less than half a page, I don't know why you never bother to read you OWN ZIONIST documents.

I will cut and paste Herzl original suggestion for a Jewsih state and its nature (which I have typed for you before) in the next post to keep this short enough for you to actually read. I will also write seperately about the Judaism accpect regarding Israe.
