farsi typing
by arabpour (not verified) on Sun Jan 25, 2009 12:00 PM PSTI have changed the language in Windows to Farsi and I am able to type farsi but it types left to right how can I fix this? Please.
This is my option
by Sasha on Fri Nov 02, 2007 02:36 AM PDTI like the other options provided by the others as well. I thought they were kind of cool. Of course I have to make things more complex than they need to be. :o)
This is what you need to do
1. Go to start
2. Select Control Panel
3. Select Regional and Languages options
4. Select the Language Tab
5. Select the text box where it says details. It will take you to the settings tab. In it you must add the languages you need which are English and Fasi
6. In the Supplemental language support box select Install files for complex script and right to left languages.
REMEMBER WHERE EVER YOU SEE THE APPLY YOU MUST SELECT IT TO SAVE THE CHANGES YOU WANT AND THEN SELECT OK
I hope this helps you find some guidance.

Re: Majid
by jamshid on Wed Oct 24, 2007 05:15 PM PDTIf the virutal keyboard did not display on your screen, there could be two remedies.
1. Go to the site again. Look for the "Text Input" box. It is right below the instruction. Then right above the input box, look for an icon with this label next to it: "icon to open the Virtual Keyboard window." Then click on the icon. This should display the keyboard on your screen. If that didn't work then...
2. Go to this site and install Java which the virtual keyboard requires:
//java.com/en/download/index.jsp?cid=jdp7513
Then try again the site. Let me know if you had success.
I'm still unsuccessful !
by Majid on Wed Oct 24, 2007 04:32 PM PDTJamshid : I did go to the site you suggested, but there was no such key board as you mentioned ! Am I doing something wrong or may be it's been changed ?
Mehdi : Did you get anywhere with that ?
And Sophie : I have no frigging idea where my windows CD is !
Any other suggestions?
You can click on my name to send me direct e-mail if you choose to.
Thank you all in advance.
Thanks everybody

Re: Typing Farsi
by jamshid on Mon Oct 15, 2007 07:32 PM PDTThere are two ways. An easy way but so useful, and a more useful way but it requires you to change your computer's settings.
First the easy way. Go to this site and save it in your favorites:
//www.paralink.com/virk/index.html
A keyboard will popup on your screen. At the very bottom left corner of the keyboard you'll see a dark left arrow. Click on it. You'll get a list of languages. Select Farsi from the list. The keyboard now changes to farsi.
Whatever Farsi letter you click on that keyboard with your mouse, it will appear in Farsi in the box on the site's internet screen. Once you are done, just copy and paste.
Sophie below has provided you with a "better" way which allows you to use your own physical keyboard to type in Farsi/English/Mix here in this site or in MS Word, or any where else. It requires you to do some work in the control panel and you'll need a Farsi keyboard overlay to place on your keyboard.
tip - hope it helps
