fast and furious lezginka dance in an Azeri wedding

The embedded lezginka dance was recorded during a wedding in Azerbaijan.  The legwork in the dances are just maddening.

With so many good dancers in the video, especially the coordinated duos, my guess is that the wedding party belongs to a dance company in Azerbaijan.

Thank you for sharing....very unique dance...I believe it is pretty strenuous when you dance that fast....

Yolanda - This is was taken in the country Azerbaijan.  No Mullah rulers.

Riverdance video has had >5 million viewers.

Amazing agility, flexibility, and body coordination......it also reminds me of Irish "River Dance", but 5 times fatser than the 'River Dance'!

It seems to me that many ladies did not wear hejab....Yeah!

Most Azerbaijanis, at least the ones up north, vs. ones down south, have Lezgin roots, a lot of them, so it's not surprising, the LEZGINKA has been well integrated in their culture, and I hear there are competitions, possibly at the national level for kids enrolled in these dance classes. That is definitely one of the best ones I've seen in a long time at a wedding, especially with folks above age 30+.
