Efforts have started to create a cat sanctuary in Iran. We hope to purchase a location outside of city limit if funding is sufficient; otherwise, we will plan on renting a place. In the beginning of the effort, we will limit our activities to rescuing sick kittens and cats which would die if left on their own. Later, we hope to expand our activities to include spaying and neutering and outreach for adoption.
Because the organizers are in the beginning stage, there is no need to send any money now. But the organizers will need volunteers to help them in this effort. Even if you can only donate a little time to help, we would greatly appreciate it.
We welcome your ideas and suggestions in supporting this cause. Please send your suggestions, and offers to help to Mrs. Fatemeh Motamedi at fatemehmotamedi@hotmail.com
Thank you.

by Shepesh on Tue Sep 21, 2010 04:27 PM PDTIt is so important for us to care about animals and strays, spaying and neutering is an important issue . I have no suggestions other than to give emotional support and encouragment, and later donate. Please carry on the great work.
An adoptee of my paternal
by Sargord Pirouz on Mon Sep 20, 2010 11:13 PM PDTAn adoptee of my paternal great grandfather took an Iranian panther as a pet. During the 1940s, he was notorious in Tehran for taking it on walks across town, using a linked steel chain as a leash. The family is not proud of what we considered his inhumane treatment of the big cat. To this day, elderly Tehranis still remember this character.
The cat sanctuary is a splendid idea. Best of luck with it.
