Mystics Cave

After having listened to 3 of their albums, I have to say Secret chief 3 are impressive and pretty unique. They are on the fringe of the fringe!

They are lots great fusion world music around, combining Persian, Arabic and Western music . Some of this genera are excellent, some of my favourite being Celtarabia, AfroCelt, Niaz. I think Secret chief 3 will be added to my list now.

SC3 combine esoteric ideas and system together as well as music. We hear the Persian Sufi inspired titles such as ‘The 4 (Creat Ishraqi Sun)’, or ‘Engagement Of The Sword: Zulfiqar III’, then there is Zoroastrian inspired ‘On The Wings Of The Haoma’ and we are then off on the hermetica and western mysteries.

Album title of ‘ First Grand Constitution and Bylaws’ refers to some of the more formal western mystery schools. The band name itself is after ‘secret teachers’ from Hermetic Order of Golden Dawn. The art work in the album is very interesting and symbolic too.
