Luna Shad's first documentary, Keys To My Home, will be screened at University of California at Berkeley this coming Saturday, February 11, 2012. The film is about one Iranian Journalist, Delbar Tavakoli, who fled Iran in the aftermath of the disputed 2009 elections. Delbar's is only one of at least 150 stories of Iranian journalists who have had to flee persecution and abuse in Iran since June 2009, according to Committee to Protect Journalists. Most of these journalists traveled through Turkey, while they waited to be re-settled with the help of UN High Commission on Refugees. The film explores the human side of the forced journey out of one's home through isolation, hardship, poverty, homesickness, and the remarkable friendships that grow out of pain.

If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area, please join us at this event which is sponsored by ISAA (Iranian Student Alliance in America) at UC Berkeley. Saturday, February 11, 2012, 7:00 p.m., 60 Evans Hall, Berkeley, California. The film Director, Luna Shad, will be available for questions and answers after the film showing. English subtitled.
