Things are falling in order as we get ready for our great night of performances and joy in San Francisco on October 23rd! I would like to introduce another one of our artists to you. His name is Pezhham Akhavass and he is an extraordinary percussionist. He joins Parisa Vaaleh and Kamran Thunder on stage on Saturday night, just before Saeid Shanbehzadeh Ensemble take the stage to rock San Francisco!

Pezhham Akhavass, is a renowned percussionist and modern day virtuoso of Persian percussive instruments Tombak and Daf. Born in 1980 in Iran, Pezhham began learning music theory at the age of 5 and later graduated with a degree in music from the Sureh University in Tehran. After studying with the modern day masters of Persian music, he began working professionally with the renowned vocalist Shahram Nazeri from 2000-2007 where he traveled the world extensively performing in notable festivals and prestigious venues. Pezhham has worked and recorded with major master musicians including Hossein Alizadeh, Kayhan Kalhour, Aliakbar Moradi, Saeid Farajpouri, Majid Derakhshani, Hosein Yousefzamani, Masoud Shoari, and has also performed with YoYo Ma.
