October 23, what a night it was!

My friends and I are slowly re-surfacing after a week long celebration of life, friendships, music, and love for Iran and Iranian.com. We have so much to show you and tell you! Give me a couple of days to put together the pictures taken by various photographers and tell you the story I want to tell you about last week! In the meantime, I think I should write to quickly say what a great night it was!
No matter how much I knew about Saturday night's artists, no matter how many YouTube clips I had watched and CD tracks I had listened to, nothing had prepared me for how delighted I was with Saturday night's performances! And I wasn't alone! Hundreds of other people shared the same sentiments with me!
Our night got started with the wonderful music of Parisa Vaaleh and her fabulous fellow musicians who played beautiful music, and did such a good job on the stage, impressing everyone with their camaraderie, mastery of their music, and the excitement that kept on building up all night long. Beautiful and talented Parisa Vaaleh was joined by Kamran Thunder on piano and Pezhham Akhavass on percussion. Their show was absolutely lovely! We, in the Bay Area, are so lucky to be able to hold on to these great talents! I will show you pictures of them very soon.
After a short intermission, the fabulous Saeid Shanbehzadeh Ensemble took to the stage. You know, I spent a whole week next to these guys! I would like to admit, though, that nothing had prepared me for seeing them perform live onstage. Their performance is world class, and endlessly pleasing to the audience's eyes and ears. What a great combination of talents to have--to be able to sing, talk, dance, and play multiple instruments onstage! Saeid Shanbehzadeh and his music ensemble have it all, and we were so lucky to be able to see it all live in the Bay Area! During the extremely well-choreographed performance, hearing Habib Meftah Boushehri's sweet voice and percussion next to all the other instruments and movements, I felt like I had traveled to Boushehr, learning the landscape, the lifestyle, and the sweet dialect. What a wonderful combination of art, education, and nostalgia!
One of the best things about this week was a mini gathering of Iranian.com friends who came from as far away as Montreal, Canada, and as near as San Jose, Sacramento, and Los Angeles, California, to be near each other. Of course, we won't even count Jahanshah, who had come all the way from Budapest! We had such a great time! At one point around a foyer of the Herbst Theater in San Francisco, I could count at least twelve well-known Iranian.com'ers who were hanging out and talking! Soon I will share a photo essay of our week-long adventures with the fabulous musicians and our lovely friends, new and old.
This may be a good opportunity to thank the fabulous volunteers and contributors of Iranian.com, Payam, Aria, Hadi, Vahid, and Hamid, who are fabulous and generous and a source of pride for any team project. Thanks guys!
Above is a photograph of Naghib Shanbehzadeh on Saturday night, taken by the fabulous San Francisco-based photographer, Raymond Van Tassel. Naghib is a 17-year-old musical genius, the one whose night this was, in my opinion. We had such a good audience, full of love, energy, and warmth. I think they loved all the artists, but this one, this one just melted everyone's heart! I will tell you more soon.

این آقا مجید عین آواتارش است فقط ۳۰-۴۰ سال اضافه کن.
سوری پوست خیلی سلامتی داره و لبخند بسیار شیرینی. شفافیت پوستش در عکس آواتارش خوب معلوم نیست.
بقیهٔ هم که همونیم که بودیم. م پی دی، آری و جی جی کمی خوش تیپ تر شده بودن از همیشه.
ایشالا دفعه بعد باید خودت قدم رنجه کنی تا ببینی چه خبرهاس!

من تازه از سفر چین و ماچین برگشتم، بذار عرقم خشگ شه خودم امروز یا فردا یه بلاگ مینویسم راجع باین گردهمایی با عکس و تفصیلات و (آنچه ناگفتنی ست) رو روی دایره میریزم! این خطّ اینم نشون!

در گردهمایی باقی می ماند! (از خنده واقعا دارم غش می کنم!)
فرامرز خان، بابا، تو هم که مثل من خیلی کنجکاوی! آخه پس چرا خودت نیومدی ببینی چه خبره؟! این سوری خانم فقط به همین جهت آمده بود که گرد همایی را "سوپروایز" کند. البته بندهء خدا مجبور شد کلی هم ظرف بشوره و جمع و جور بکنه، اما خوب، هم مارا سوپروایز کرد و هم به امور سایرین رسید! ماندا که خدا پدرش را بیامرزد از دستپختش چند باری خوردیم، آقای بایرامعلی خیلی رانندگی کرد (و یک بار هم بارتندری) و آقا مجید و ام پی دی هم حسابی به کار گرفته شدند. حالا دیگر هرکار بکنید، به هیچ عنوان نمی توانید از من حرف بیشتری بیرون بکشید! در وصف قضایا همین بس که دیدار بعدی هرکجا باشد من می روم! شما هم بیایید! این بار که حسابی جایتان خالی بود!

ماه مارچ ۲۰۱۱ ؟ خبر خوب و مقبولیست،خدا کند که در آن زمان در پاریس حضور داشته باشیم،خدا میداند که آیا در آن زمان هم چقدر سرمان شلوغ خواهد بود و ویا در سفریم ویا خیر !

by Red Wine on Tue Oct 26, 2010 08:16 AM PDTاگر ایشان مسلط بر اجرای موسیقی اصیل دشتستانی باشد،حتما دلمان می‌خواهد که ایشان را ببینیم چون از مریدان این سبک هستیم اما از آنچه که شنیدیم و آنچه که دیدیم،اینجور نبوده است،امیدواریم که دوستان بیشتر از اینان سخن بگویند تا ما هم آشنا شویم.
عجیب است که اینجور دسته جات موسیقی تنها در امریکا و کانادا برنامه اجرا میکنند،نمیخواهیم نفوس بد زنیم و ایرادی بگیریم..اینگونه برداشت می‌کنیم که تنها به علت مشکلات مادی است.
از نازی خانم و دیگر دوستان دوست فراموش.. به خاطر بلاگ و گزارش کمال تشکر را داریم.

نازی جون امیدوارم خستگیها تا آخر این هفته از تنت در بیان. جداً زحمت کشیدی و عالی بود.
آقا مجید عزیز، سوری خوشگله بانمک، و اهالی خوش تیپ و مهربان این منطقه: چقدر خوش حال شدم شماها رو باز دیدم!
آقایان والنتیر: کنسرت بدون شماها کنسرت نمیشه!
دیدن جهانشاه هم که جای خود، سفرهات بخیر.

It was just Fantastic!
Guys, it really worth the long trip, as Majid jon have said.
Saied Shanbezadeh, Habib and Naghib, were just amazing at the stage! I was very much impressed by their performance.
Lady Parisa was wonderful, with her angelic voice. So were Pezhham and Kamran. I've bought their CD and truly enjoy listening to their amazing performance.
The most beautiful part was to know my dear IC friends in person. Such beautiful souls as Nazy (She is a real angel) my very dears MPD and Majid and Foad and Bayram-ali and Aria, Ari and also Hadi....my lovely Monda and JJ and Anahid and Mehman....and ....and....so many other wonderful friends!
This was one of the best trips, events and memories I have ever had. Thanks to all the artists and the beautiful friends of IC.
I'm forever grateful to you.
And a big thank to the wonderful Nazy, for her great hospitality!

One of the greatest nights of my life

Nazy jaan, thank you for all your hard work. You were great on stage and off stage, entertaining and catering to the performers, guests, and the audience. The show was absolutely fantastic. On top of all of that, icing on the cake, I had the pleasure of meeting two iraniandocom contributors for the first time. Majid, you are one of the coolest guys I’ve ever met in my life. There wasn’t a dull moment in that whole weekend. Souri, what can I say! You are a doll, the sweetest lady I’ve ever met in my life. I miss you two already.
I had a great night. Thank you all.

Fortunately, I did not leave the concert empty handed since I bought Shanbehzadeh's CD and I have been listening to it, especially the second song on CD which so far I have listened to at least 20 times. Once again, thanks for all your hard work.

من رفت و برگشت ٨٢٠ مایل رانندگی کردم که اونجا باشم (در حالیکه شب بعدش این گروه تو ٢٠ مایلی خودم، لس آنجلس، اجرا داشتند) ولی هر اینچ از اون٨٢٠ مایل ارزش روندن داشت که این اجراء رو همراه دست اندر کاران و بروبچّه های ایرانیان دات کام از نزدیک ببینم!
از نظر حاضرین در اونجا اینجوری بهتون بگم، ستاره بارون بود! کمتر میشه این تعداد هنرمند و نویسنده و موزیسین ایرانی رو یکجا دید!
خانم پریسا واله، کامران و پژهام یکدنیا کلاس رو با قشنگترین موسیقی در هم آمیختند!
و امّا..........سعید و نقیب شنبه زاده و حبیب مفتاح:
من انتظار موزیک آشنا و معمولی «بندری» رو داشتم! اشتباه!
این بچّه ها روی صحنه کاری کردند کارستان! همه رو از سانفرانسیسکو بردند به قلب اصالت فرهنگ بوشهری و دِلواری! بخصوص با قطعه های «فایز دشتستانی» حبیب!
اگر برای اجراء اومدن اطراف شما از دستشون ندید!
محبّت سرشار بروبچّه های سانفرانسیسکو هم خامهء روی این کیک بود!
