Of course We are all Rostams
by Orang Gholikhani on Sat Jan 31, 2009 05:37 AM PSTThanks to all for your kindness and usual support. I start answering by order:
IranDokht jan,
sadness is not be hopeless "Na Omidi". It is a tansitional phase to gain power and go forward. The world is like it is and we need struggle with it as we can.
Unfortunately I missed the Moshaereh. As I'm only an occasional poet and beside I've a very busy professional life! I don't visit Iranaian.com every day. Next time alert me with an email ;-)
Azarine Jan,
Rostam has always been modern! our society has an old view of him. He never had a personal battel. He has always been there to resue and clean up mess done by Kings. He gave everything even his son and be killed by a trap and not in Front. He is what we want be and cannot be.
Today we need a lot of Rostams ...
To finish, Your are right there are more sad poems in our culture but they could come from happy poets :-) I assure you I'm fine and know also a lot of jokes :-) look at this little Rostam //www.ffk-wilkinson.com
Cheers.
nevertheless
by Jahanshah Javid on Sat Jan 31, 2009 01:43 AM PSTVery very beautiful. Thanks Orang.
Have you ever seen a happy poet?
by Azarin Sadegh on Fri Jan 30, 2009 08:18 PM PSTLovely poem Orang Jan!
Actually, I like your Rostam...it is a modern Rostam! A realistic one who isn't a Pahlevan anymore...A Rostam with a heavy sense of guilt. It should be Rostam after opening his eyes to the reality of the world...where he realizes that he cannot win every single battle with every single monster...that there is always another monster waiting for him...and worst of all, the worst monster has been himself, killing his own son!
What do you need more to get depressed?
Plus, have you ever seen a happy poet? Isn't this sadness the essence of poetry (especially our poetry)...?
Cheers and thanks for your beautiful poem!
