Painter

If I were a painter

I would erase traits of face,

Paint the cry purple, turn the soul pallid.

I would abandon lily in the water

and the wind in the fields

I would sacrifice life and soul

In the painting.

I would paint the night white

the sad day black, see the truth,

Bring the dream on the canvas.

I would draw time as a circle

Strip the silence with sigh.

If I were a painter

I would reach love in slumber,

abandon rules, get drunk,

Forget disloyalties.

I would make the sunlight warm, the shadow amused at the margin.

Deny drunkenness,

Leavethe soil and sand to the whiteness of dawn.

Si j’étais peintre

j’effacerais les traits duvisage,

peignerais le crie en pourpre,

l’âme, en livide.

Si j’étais peintre

j’abandonnerais

nénufar dans l’eau

et le vent dans le champ.

Je sacrifierais vie et âme

dans le tableau.

Si j’étais peintre

je peignerais La nuit en blanc

le jour de tristesse en noir,verrais la vérité, apporterais le rêve sur la toile.

Ah, si j’étais peintre

Je dessinerais le temps encercle, dénuderai le silence avec soupire.

Si j’étais peintre

J’arriverais à l’amour dans monsommeil, abandonnerais les règles, m’enivrerais,

oublierais les infidélités.

Si j’étais peintre,

je ferais lumière du soleilchaude,

l’ombre amusé à la marge.

Je lèverais la tête au ciel

nierais l’ivresse, laisserais lesol et le sable à la blancheur d'aube.
