At the door to the blessed Mother, the trepidation of shortcomings, all evident
The flavor of victory, though elusive, yet in sight, mesmerizingly close
All joy, no sadness, come my sweet, embrace my passion
The sweetness of love, our love, enduring through eternity, yes my darling, yet to come
My Brother, your Prophet, all angels, no revelations
Blessed Spirit, yes my darling, at the throne of Almighty, my ecstasy, and indeed yours, abounds
At the pearly gates, the angels of God, reckoning the believers, in all their glory
Imbued with ecstasy, much bliss, running over, through our very being, in total glory, all through and through
The shade of darkness, in total light, my Lord, where art Thou
At the seat of the blessed, contemplating, the very essence of creation, yes my sweet, O’ Lord, where art Thou
All enamored, from the flow of spirit, nothing unencumbered, but the passion, there within
All holy, nothing spiritual, but the total bliss, our creator, at the center of it all
My angel Gabriel, all angels, in rapture, at the very seat, of the Almighty
No flesh, all spirit, nothing corruptible, all blessed, yes my sweet, in our very bosoms
Come my darling, walk with me, as the beckoning of the spirits, overwhelm our senses
Nothing haphazard, all planned, yes my sweet, by God himself, from eternity past
No hardships, all effortless, blessed, by the touch, yes my darling, of the wonder of infinity
Nothing casual, all clothed, in beautiful lilies, in the spirit, from henceforth, to all, to be manifested
All there, nothing here, yes my darling, but the blessed Mother
No Prophets, no Holy Books, no my precious, but the work of the spirit, in its full manifestation
All along this path, not much toil, no my darling, but the glory of creation
Our Mowlana, your spirit, yes my precious, co-mingling, in all its form, for ever, and ever more
My heart, your love, blending, yes my love, till kingdom cometh
My Lord, our God, yes sweet precious, our Mowlana, all, one and the same, for ever more

by Passing Through on Fri Jan 01, 2010 06:58 AM PSTMy Dear Yolanda,
The stuff that you are covering by watching these programs, are the foundation of the true understanding of all religions
Let me elaborate on this:
You brought up the terms Denotation, and Connotation:
Denotation essentially refers to the fact that something actually happened: like the virgin birth of Christ, or the existence of a physical Heaven, etc.
By contrast, Connotation refers to the metaphor which that thing represents - For example, a virgin birth, or a re-birth, is with reference to one's heart making one more human and compassionate towards others - Also, similarly, Heaven is a state within you, and not an actual physical place
There is a term that Joseph Campbell uses and that is concretizing - By that he means making a metaphor into an actual thing
Let me share with you something: When I watched those programs, the true meanings of the symbolism in the Bible became clear to me - By that I mean, the metaphorical nature of the Bible became clear to me!
The only thing that I can say, based on my own personal experience, is that it was completely and totally liberating - When one understands the metaphorical nature of not only Bible, but other Holy Books, it totally unshackles one from dogma and other restricting things!
It's going to take you a while for you to fully appreciate what I'm saying - Just be patient, and keep an open mind :)
Take Good Care Of Yourself Sweetheart :)
PT
P.S. Joseph Campbell was one of the few people who truly understood the nature of religions better than any other religious person - As I indicated before, his faith truly transcended beyond just an ordinary faith!

by yolanda on Fri Jan 01, 2010 04:02 AM PSTDear Friends,
I hope 2010 is a better year for all the Iranians both inside and outside Iran. I pray that Iranians can win the fight for freedom and democracy. For some reasons that I am hopeful and scared at the same time. I am hopeful that it is just a matter of time Iran will be freed 'cause Iranians are so brave and they have been fighting for so long. I am also scared that I really don't want to see 80's style of mass executions. Everytime I think about the mass executions, it hurts me....I hope it will never happen again!!!! I am really praying hard on that!!!!
I truly hope that things will become favorable for the Iranian people! I feel that they are part of the family to me.......they are always in my heart!!!
Happy New Year Everyone and God bless you all!!!

by yolanda on Fri Jan 01, 2010 03:47 AM PSTDear PT,
Hi! I watched 2 more episodes of the DVD's. It is loaded with interesting facts. It talked about trance, duality, denotation, and connotation, bliss, etc....a lot of heavy stuff. I really have to watch it again 'cause I am not familiar with religions other than Christianity. It seems to me that Joe Campbell felt that Jesus never went to Heaven, the whole thing is metaphorical.....I am still trying to understand what that means.......question: Do you think Joe Campbell was equivalent to a American Sufi type of figure?
Please take care!!!

by yolanda on Thu Dec 31, 2009 01:14 PM PSTI read a beautiful poem, Rain Rain, by MPD 3 days ago. The poem mentioned Damavand. I checked on both you-tube and Wikipedia, it turns out that Damavand is the tallest volcanically active mountain in Asia. It is related to a lot of Persian mythology. It looks like Yellowstone type of terrain sitting on top of potentially active volcano. The 3 videos show the sulfur fume bellowing from the ground, it reminds me of the scene in Yellowstone National Park. It is gorgeous! I hope they build more roads and campgrounds, so more people from inside and outside Iran can visit! The good news is that Mt Damavand is in the process of becoming a National Heritage Site.
White sulfur plume rising above the blue sky, it is cool! It is the hidden treasure of Iran!
This video has blue sky, white clouds, green vegetation, a goat, and glaciers. It is idyllic! The music is "Reflection of Passion" by Yanni!

by Passing Through on Thu Dec 31, 2009 07:39 AM PSTMy Dear Yolanda,
Joseph Campell was of Irish descent .. He was born in 1904, and passed away in 1987
He was raised as a Roman Catholic, but he actually went far beyond that - The issue of his religion comes up in the course of the interviews
Many of the stuff that we have talked about in the past several blogs, such as Mysticism, Eastern and Western Religions, Bliss, etc. come up in the course of the interviews also - Pay attention to the issues of symbolism and metaphor when he talks about them :)
Take Good Care Of Yourself Sweetheart, And A Happy New Year To You Too :)

P.S. Please feel free to post whatever poems and videos that you like - They are All Great!

by yolanda on Thu Dec 31, 2009 05:59 AM PSTDear PT,
I watched the "Hero" episode twice, but I need to watch it again. I am humbled by Joe Campbell's knowledge. He mentioned so many fascinating things in one hour, it is just amazing! I feel ignorant 'cause I have so much to learn. I am going to do this, I will watch all the episodes once now 'cause I am on my winter break, and then go back to watch the individual episodes again & again.
I love the part he talked about "consciousness", even plants have consciousness, the heliotropism! Wow!! My high school Biology started to come back to me! It is a great idea to think about the spiritual matter! May I ask, what is Mr. Campbell's religion?
Please take care and Happy New Year!
P.S. If any future videos are improper, please let me know, I am always flexible!!! I like the 2 protest videos , the song is soo touching, sorry the pictures are sad and graphic! It breaks my heart!

Please don't say "sorry"......I have to say that only a couple of people give me hard time......they can suddenly jump out....:O).....anyway I try to get used to the "hardship"! The funny thing is that every incident is different! :O) My strategy is to pull my posts, I just took down 2 posts 3 days ago.....I don't debate them 'cause I don't have time...
thanks,

Sorry,
by Rendd on Wed Dec 30, 2009 10:32 PM PSTI didn't mean you have too much time. I am also on my two-week vacation.
People who want to give you a hard time they'll do whether you blog or comment. By the way, anything we do it'll going to offend someone one way or another.
Do you teach? You know that when you teach some of your students are slow some are bright and quick. Same thing here. Someday some people are ok some are not then the other day they switch places.
It's because we are humans and nothing we do is pre-programmed. The good thing is you can make an enemy a friend if you want to.
Maybe the guys that labeled you with something that you didn't deserve just had a bad day.
Look at the bright side that you have enough friends that can offset the cruel intentions of a few.
Just try it! You'll see it for yourself!

I have been called "hypocrite" twice......you probably remember what happened on the "Hijab" blog.....2 guys really gave me hard time, I took down my posts and also flagged my post to "accommodate" them.......a very bad experience.....I try to stay out of the controversy! :O)
thanks,
P.S. I am on my 2 week break, I will start working on Jan 4.

by Rendd on Wed Dec 30, 2009 10:12 PM PSTand the creativity and originality not the length or the composition or even writing style.
You have the idea, your English is very well so you know how to compose and send out your ideas. You also have time. So?....!?!

by yolanda on Wed Dec 30, 2009 10:08 PM PSTHi Rendd,
It is called "writing a post", it is different from blogging! :O)
I recall, you wrote a poem and IC put your poem on the center stage, one odd guy is rude and gave you a hard time....I felt bad for you.....your poem is a blog....I only write posts, nothing else.
Take care!

A Poem by Hafiz
***************************
The Stairway of Existence
**********************************
WeAre not
In pursuit of formalities
Or fake religious
Laws,
For through the stairway of existence
We have come to God's
Door.
We are
People who need to love, because
Love is the soul's life,
Love is simply creation's greatest joy.
Through
The stairway of existence,
O, through the stairway of existence, Hafiz
Have
You now come,
Have we all now come to
The Beloved's
Door.

LOL! More goodies are coming. I think you won't be disappointed, but I will make sure that this blog won't end up in the "most discussed" table 'cause I don't want to become famous; I can't handle the spotlight; and I prefer to keep a low profile! :O) My new strategy is that if there are too many posts, I will put multiple videos in one post, so this way I can reduce the number of posts here! :O)
