I wonder what sort of reaction IR morality police would show to this woman.
Would she be arrested?
Would they dare to take off the holy words from her back with plastic surgery?
Would she be punished?
Would she be stoned?
>
Would any devout Moslem dare to throw stone at the name of God and Prophet?
Or will her body literally become a shrine for male pilgrims who will come to touch, kiss and offer money with the hopes that their wishes may come true?
Of course, she needs to lose a little weight to make the shrine thing work.
And Shiite men may be interested to see Hassan and Hussein in this picture.

70's guy, you're funny. I
by skatermom (not verified) on Tue Aug 05, 2008 07:27 AM PDT70's guy, you're funny. I didn't understand the sahrai karbala comment until now. My farsi coloquialism is rusty. I just wanted to point out that it's interesting that muslims don't have any religious rules about tattooing yet Christians and Jews clearly do. Ironically Christians tend to be the ones with tattoos. I for one am still deathly afraid of my Iranian parents and don't have any and yes unfortunately Iranian women were cursed with hair. It's interesting that you find it a blessing though. That's probably why you're called that 70's guy.
Skatermom, you are scaring me.
by The 70's guy (not verified) on Mon Aug 04, 2008 08:45 PM PDTFirst of all, I believe Tattoos are the most difficult expression of counter culture to reverse. Even rings and braces attached to body parts are not as damaging as tattoos. I am glad that I won't be around to see 80 year old men and women with tattoos all over their wrinkled bodies shaking their cane to some rap song while they are helplessly drooling in their assisted living home.
Secondly, what is this shaving and waxing business that is going on these days?
Sahrai Karbela is right. It used to be the bushy forests of Caspian Sea region and now it is Sahrai Karbela without a single palm near the oasis.
Thirdly, you should not be talking about waxing your mustache or putting hydrogen peroxide on your dark hairy arms. You may have reached to a very comfortable stage of relationship with your husband but most guys do not like to think about hairy girls with mustaches who don't think being 20 pounds overweight is a problem.
In summary, No tattoos, leave the forest alone and don't talk about waxing mustaches.
That's so beautiful! And
by skatermom (not verified) on Sat Aug 02, 2008 07:30 PM PDTThat's so beautiful! And Cy, that was hillarious. My husband has both my son's name and my name tattooed on him in Farsi caligriphi. The artist said that it was probably one of the toughest scripts he had ever done. Ironically there is nothing in the Koran that prohibits tattoos. However, The Old Testament law commanded the Israelites, “Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD” (Leviticus 19:28). That would then hold true for Christians as well. Islamic scholars came up with there own chert o pert later on saying that we should not alter our bodies in any way for Allah would disapprove. With that logic then my brother would have never had braces, my moustache wouldn't get waxed and the entire Middle East would have their God given noses. I would think the akhoonds would be stoked on seeing people tattoo koranic scriptures on them. It would show at least some kind of commitment. Come on boys, Kojayeh een khanoom chagheh? You guys sure are picky. She has a beautiful back.
