When Benedict Fuhrmann, 34 years old photographer realized that on his planed road-trip from Germany to Vietnam the mountains and plains of Iran marked only half of the entire distance, and after he had to spend some days on the turkish-iranian boarder to be checked, but later was invited by the boarder policemen to stay there for an hour-length tea-break, he changed his further travel plan and drove around this country for 3 month. Not that he was afraid of the ever-present officials who did not let any doubt of their careful surveillance of this suspicious lonesome travellor, not that he was ignorant about the well-known violations of human rights in Iran, but he felt that all the news headlines in the international media missed a major point: That a country as big as Iran with a population as complex and colourful as its cultural heritage is only poorly described in political categories.

Mr. Fuhrmann describes his intention as "We say ‘yes’ to transcending borders and are adding a personal
perspective to the image of Iran propagated by the media. Hidden from
view by every regime are the real people, the people who live in a
country."

After 3 month of shooting photographs and videos, Benedict Fuhrmann returned to Germany with a treasure of yet unseen impressions of this country.

Fuhrmann is currently crowd-raising money to present his images and videos under the title "Say Servus and Salam" in a private Munich gallery ("Servus" is common south-german/austrian slang for Hello). Caspian Sea, near Bandar e Ansali

I mentioned a shot from Lake Oromeyeh may be in it not that the entire thing is from there.  ... The water shots may not be one continues long shot form one place but rather a few here and there shots from different places.  

There is a shot where the water is standing still with no waves , or at least that is what I see.... Also the shore by that shot has some saltish boarder line ... that reminded me of Lake Oromeyeh ...  

but still I may be wrong ..

Unknown Sea-Side

Dear Soosan, I doubt that people go fishing and swimming in Lake Oroumyieh. But there are also the guys who just like to sit on the sea-side with a fishing-rod in their hand, not expecting to catch a fish at all. I simply thought that the way the lights are reflected and the shadows are thrown makes it look more like a sunset on a seaside facing northward (like Caspian Sea). Maybe I'm wrong, maybe it was all by special video effects. I will ask the producer to give us a hint.

I am not sure? I have not seen much of those big rocks area where they are siting and fishing in Caspian Sea but rather in the Persian Gulf.. Also I think somewhere in the middle shots it shows part of the Lake Oromeyeh but I may be wrong.   Perhaps there are others here that can help. I have not checked the second link you posted yet, could there be some description with these images?

Caspian Sea ?

Dear Soosan, I think the video can really ring a bell. Do you know by chance, if the first scenes at the seaside show the Caspian Sea ? It must be a very pictoresce landscape. From the few Iranian movies I saw, the Caspian Sea is more often used as a location (as in "Darbare Eli") as compared to the Persian Gulf. Why is this ?
