what is the color of love

what is the color of love
(range eshgh)

to everything turn turn turn,

there is a season--the byrds

there's a black wind that blows in you

above a black river that flows in you

beside a black tree that grows in you

and you warned me about this black wind

how you don't undeerstand it

and you cannot control it

and as i came to know your black wind

i began to wonder

what is the color of love?

and i thought well love must be white

because love is life

and life is all of us and all colors

and white is the presence of all colors

so love must be clear and bright like a diamond

when the diamond meets the light.

and then i began to ponder

how love must be orange like the sun when it rises

and golden like sun giving life

and love must be green like the grass when it grows

and blue when it dreams and red when it struggles

and deep deep inidigo like night when it mourns

but love cannot be black

because black is the absence of all colors

so how is it your love is so black?

and then i began to reason.

suppose black is not absence but merely a turning

turning one's back on the diamond

simply because one is afraid

afraid to be blinded by light

what if you just kept on turning turning

wouldn't you have to

see the diamond

and finally face it and

and find the clear wind that blows in you

the deep blue river that flows in you

and green everything that grows in you

and return

and become one with light

to all things turn

there is a season

well, i guess it's time for my vacation. i'm very late for my plane. one thing i've learned here is simplicity of language. thanks to all my colors. i hope i don't leave anyone out:

song of solomon, eccclesiastes, old testament:

to everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to reap, a time to kill, and a time to heal, a time to break down, and a time to build up, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to cast awaystones and a time to gather stones, a time to embrace and a time and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to gain and a time to lose, a time to keep and a time to discard, a time to rend and a time to sow, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

i'm thankful to the people who wrote such nice things, here, originally i said leave it white but i'm glad you wrote, and i'll miss you too.

but mazloom, spirit...i don't want a party here..it's not a happy day for me..

okay mazloom what i meant by green is when someone has been changing and evolving and opening themselves up and growing emotionally--well really i mean spiritually--during the time we've known each other..

hope that explains tings.

Hurry back soon

Good-bye Rosie. I will miss you.

Full of green....lol

by Free Spirit (not verified) on

So you are full of weed now. Well, it is certainly good to know. It explains a lot Mazloom. lol

Now, how do you go from my four little sentences to your mini essay on the justifications of your inquiry.:)

You certainly seem to need to do a great deal of analizatiion at your ever increasing tender edge.

Wonder no more and just chillax with some more of the green stuff. puff....puff....puff....away.lol

and love must be green like the grass when it grows

by Mazloom on

Weed is also green when it grows.

If love is green so is weed.

Are you saying I am a weed,

or saying I smoke weed?

Am I paranoid?

If I accept that I am green,

do I have to pass the weed,

the grass,

the love?

Am I a flower child?

I am white

Polluted by rainfall

but my ass

not yet defiled.

Since when

by Mazloom on

Since when asking two simple questions consisting of seven words, twenty four letters is whining?  I just want to know why I am green.  Did I say green was not a very good color?  Did I say green was unfriendly and anti environmental?  No I didn't.  Maybe Natalia and Zion think of themselves as indigo color, and so they don't QUESTION it.  But me, I have to know from horse's mouth why, why!

Hmmmmmmmmmm!  Who would have remembered that I once said "Thou shalt not whine", I wonder.  The interesting thing is that it doesn't say "Thou shall...", it says "shalt", just the way I had blogged it once, just the way it was in the Bible.  I wonder.

Thou shalt not whine Mazloom......

Green is a very good cooler. It is environmentally friendly.

Natalia and Zion are a deep Indigo. Do you see them whining on this thread?

Why Am I green?

by Mazloom on

Do I look green?! I always thought of myself to be white! The gray color you see on me is from polluted rainfall.

Nazy Kaviani

Dear Robin

by Nazy Kaviani on

This was one of the most beautiful things you have ever written. A fitting piece, this Chakameh (means a piece of poetry in Farsi), from someone who has given so much of herself to this community. I hear all the things you say and all those you don't. You have been and will always be "one of us," no matter how far or how long you are gone. I heard your message of love and humanity in your Chakameh. I can only hope that you hear that of mine in this humble farewell comment. Be good, be strong, stay beautiful, my friend, my honorary Iranian, my Iranian of The Day. Come back when you miss us. We will surely miss you. Bon voyage and Godspeed.
