Hello,
My name is Sahar Sadeghi and I am conducting dissertation research on Iranians in the United States and Germany. The iranian.com community has assisted me in the past with finding Iranians to participants for my research, and I am hoping that I can utilize this forum to find some second generation Iranians (those born and raised here) who may be interested in partaking in my project.
Currently, I am in southern california finishing my interviews with Iranians who were born and raised in the United States. I have thankfully already finished interviews with first generation and second generation Iranians in northern California, but still in need of a handful of second generation Iranians to interview in the souther California region.
In general my research is interested examining the experiences that Iranians have while living in the United States, their adjustments to American culture, relationships with other Iranians and other immigrants, experiences with discrimination, how they deal with the current politics surrounding Iran, and so forth.
The interviews will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, and they are anonymous, no personal information of yours will be published or recorded, no ones' real names will be used. I have IRB approval.
If you are interested in partaking in my project or know of someone that does, I can be reached via email at ssadeghi@temple.edu. Also, if you want further information about my project please go to the following link

I greatly appreciate the support and thank you in advance for your time, and I hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
Sahar Sadeghi

Hello. You have stated that
by Guive Mirfendereski on Tue Nov 23, 2010 05:32 PM PSTHello. You have stated that “iranian.com community assisted me with finding first generation Iranians (born in Iran) participants for my research.” The first generation Iranians in Europe and US are not born in Iran. The “first generation” would be born in the US or Europe. I was born in Iran and am not a first generation Iranian in the US. I am merely an immigrant – an original. My son, on the other hand, born in the US is a first generation – an American of Iranian descent. If I am not mistaken, you are looking for first generation Iranians born in the US. The 2nd generation would be my age - 58 yrs. plus - and they would be useless for your thesis.
