Just to say first that I am not behind the terrible Iranian regime with lack of any freedom and democracy but also to mention the behavior of Bollinger was very rude and unacceptable for me too! I don't like the Iranian regime from any view. No human rights, no respect, no freedom, no free of speech and nothing! But for the first time I would say I liked the behavior of this non- democratic president's reaction to Dr. Bollinger who invited him but insulted him, behaved absolutely in an non-academic way! He could grill him via academic ways like questioning the human rights, political prisoners, nuclear power, Israel and so on but not insulting directly which is against the host-guest relationship! Ahmadinejad was very calm and behaved properly and I confess that I liked his reaction.

by hh (not verified) on Wed Sep 26, 2007 10:41 PM PDTrespedctfully, go read some books then come back and make comments. I am as godless as you could find. I am as natinoalist as you could find. but, nevermind. if you have good reading ability and want to speak based on facts, I can suggest some books to you to read before you make any more comments. you don't have to come down to my level, just try to elvate your level. if you care aobut iran and Iranians go read these books
" All the shah's men"
" Blow back"
" the sorrows of the empire"
"the power of israel in the US"
"confesion of an economic hit man"
"blood and Oil"
" countercoup"
among so many books that suggest. but this list is good for starter.
you can find all of these on amzon.com
I don't know the level of your inteligence, but next time when you open your mouth, then have someting to back it up. I am much more iranian than you who seem to be brain washed. I am not in anyway defending the behvior of the iranian regime, but I don't let anyone talk bowlshit about my country either. have you ever even seen how a bomb kills. when you do then it is too late for iranians and a lot of them will die for ignorace of people who think they care about their country. as the latin proverb says" Necencia ncat"- means ignorance kills. take care may be we can have tea togther. so don't say one told me where to find some facts. I am giving you some suggestions.

The dude with offensive comment who pretends to be from Alabama IS Jahansah Javid. He it the troll. He puts these comments on to get people irate to post more comments. The more clicks on the site, the more money he makes. It is called BAZAR GARMI and you are falling for. Note that just about every article has the same message posted and early on too. Why do you think this site has become the center of universe for anti-Iranian articles? This guy would sell his soul to the devil for a few bucks let alone his country, dignity and pride of his people.
.
If you want to fight back just ignore the buffoon and get yourself FireFox with Adblock Plus plug-in and and enjoy. That's what I do. Iranian.com is ad free for me (as are all websites)
To Jahanshah Javid - thanks for the censorship against Alabama
by YO (not verified) on Wed Sep 26, 2007 06:28 PM PDTI just went through every comment that our friend from Alabama left and deservingly so I defended our respect on. NON was there!! Tghaye Jahanshah Javid, I don't know what your game is, but you're playing a weak one. You don't even have a side to begin with, or I would remind you to choose a side. As far as the dignity battle is concerned, you chose to leave comments of an ignorant person against a person who is defending your country? That's fair. I thought you were on our side. One last thing, I hope I don't run into you in California.... Thanks Brother for showing your true colors!
Ahmadinejad is the real coward
by amir hossein (not verified) on Wed Sep 26, 2007 06:27 PM PDTantarinejad, a democratically elected head of state? you must be joking. more likely you are just spreading propaganda for your tazizade masters in tehran on different blogs, as this is their preferred tactic to spread lies (like no gays in iran). as far as courage is concerned, why don't you instead talk about the brave students at amir kabir who gave what tazinejad deserved. he is nothing but a cowardly simpleton who could not take the heat and had all those kids arrested and imprisoned. what a cowardly little monkey boy, your president is!

Bollinger is a hypocrite
by aw (not verified) on Wed Sep 26, 2007 05:44 PM PDTSee how Bollinger sucks up to Parvez Musaharf, that great democratic leader, lover of human rights, and a poster child of human tolerance. NOT!
President Musharraf is a leader of global importance and his contribution to Pakistan’s economic turnaround and the international fight against terror remain remarkable - it is rare that we have a leader of his stature at campus,” said Lee C Bollinger, the President of Columbia University.
Bollinger is a hypocrite, pandering to special interest groups who have a vested interest in destroying Iran.

Expression
by samuel on Wed Sep 26, 2007 03:54 PM PDTI would like to thank some people like Mr. Appalled to take their time and left comments on my note! I would like to mention here that it is like Bush or Ahmadinjad's way of thinking that when you say something different, it means that you are with the opposite! There are not only two colors, black and white! there are also blue, red... and also different opinions. I didn't mention that Ahmadinejad's comments are right. I completely disagree with all his point of views. I am completely against an Islamic government or any dictatorship, including the monarchy. But it doesn't mean that I should confirm the rude, non-academic behavior of Dr. Bollinger! He absolutely behaved wrong and was much far away from his role as an academic by inviting a guest and on the other hand, Ahmadinejad behaved very politely and was calm which was a proper reaction.
Before being accused of
by Appalled (not verified) on Wed Sep 26, 2007 03:52 PM PDTBefore being accused of being anti-semitic, let me say this: I have nothing against the jews and wish them no ill. I just don't think about them. They are irrelevant to me.
to hh: I propose that reporting the truth about Iran (in other words, "the facts"), might help a horrendous war against Iran and all of our families back home.
Possibly reporting the facts will make military/sanctions even less necessary, if it is possible that the Iranian regime will collapse on its own and from within.
Also, I don't think the U.S. or the power that be are waiting for my pearls of wisdom, or yours for that matter, to do what they have to do in order to secure their strategic position (right or wrong).
So were the Nazi murderers at the Nuremberg trials

by Appalled (not verified) on Wed Sep 26, 2007 03:13 PM PDThh: It is people like you who will take Iran and many Iranians to the slaughter by hiding the crimes of IR, thinking that it will stop the war of aggression against Iran. You people are too arrogant to see that your hiding the truth and minimizing IRI atrocities are only playing in the hands of the domestic enemies of Iran. You are perpetuating and prolonging their reign of terror. To survive, the IR needs a war or at least an air attack. I hope the US won't be that stupid to give them what they want.
Parroting the left's political meme is not going to help Iran or Iranains. The anti-war meme/rhetoric is just propaganda for the left to score political gains. They know full well that the U.S. is not going to attack or invade Iran because the US has not decided yet to overthrow the government they've installed in 1978.
I can call you an Islamofascist on the IRI lobbyist payroll or many other deragatory epithet but I won't sink to your level. I couldn't care less about Israel or zionist or jews. I care about Iran and the Iranian people.

The Islamic Republic is not a sovereign nation, period. It's a client state of China, Russia, and the EU moftkhors. It's a puppet of serveral nations instead of only one during the Shah's time.
It's governance doesn't represent and reinforce the true will of the people, who are the true source of all sovereignty, and the only legitimating base for any state.
In a country where the government cannot, yet, publicly account for the serial killings of the most prominent intellectuals and writers; in a country where thousands of political prisoners have vanished without any culpability (massacring dissidents); in a country where the government manifestly lacks any accountability for its methods and means when it comes to providing for its people (except when it comes to pursuing, terrorizing and killing dissidents); in a resourceful country that almost half of the population lives in poverty, in a country where the future generation of Iranians are going to be left destitude because of massive corruption and thievary of its ruling class, the government that has thus thoroughly proven its incompetence in governance has no right to demand respect. It has not earned it.
Shame on all of you IR supporters. You don't have the interest of Iran or Iranians at heart; only lining your pockets and getting a free ride from IRI. Disgusting.

Iranians need to become civilized by force...
by Double-edged Dick (not verified) on Wed Sep 26, 2007 12:12 PM PDTI am a blue-blooded American from southern Alabama.
I know there are a few good Iranians out there and most of them have already become Americanized and assimilated well into the American culture.
But for the rest of the folks from Iran, they are useless and frankly consuming too much oxygen and polluting the earth by exhaling too much Co2.
For the sake of the world to live in peace and tranquility, America should make a one flat parking lot out of the Islamic Republic centers of power then take over the oil fields and build a permanent base in Iran until the entire society assimilate to the American way of life.
God Bless America and President Bush
