1- Create a society that does not condone killing and death like IR does

2- Have proper due process and justice system

3- Punish but Do NOT execute them  (in accordance with international laws)

4- Rehabilitate

We do not have to INVENT a new thinking, look at the UN, EU and countries who have figured it out and copy!

Bored people could be boring, dead or alive!

Dear Bored,

I think there has been a confusion on your part.  I don't think anyone has asked you to show some interest and to offer your help in this campaign. Because, anyway, people with your mentality are useless for any cause. You are one among the crowded silent majority who just take it. No matter the cause (about children or not) you are going to remain silent, neutral, unused and bitter. 

Maybe, there is some truth in what you are saying. We all could be like you, a little bit voyeur, trying to imagine the real life through other people’s lives and not our own. The anonymity of a voyeur, by definition; A voyeur enjoys being hidden, and just watching. To watch other’s struggle, their pain or joy, to observe other’s ups and downs (to forget his own failure), people’s fights, and shame... It is like tasting a forbidden pleasure and still feeling safe.

The danger is when the voyeur considers it his right, or his freedom, to complain about the bordome of his hidden position, or his boring life and screams:"Give me something new to watch, I had already seen this one."

Let’s be honest: The real life is lived by people who are brave (not like your kind of bravery though!) and passionate, not bored. Passionate people like the volunteers at the Amnesty International, Human rights watch, Stop Child Execution, and other humanitarian organizations (mostly non-Iranians), and definitely not by anonymous bored net-surfer like you! 

Bored people could be really boring, dead or alive.  

I think you are confusing the number of comments on iranian.com with what really does matter to people. The high number of comments goes for the controversial subjects where people are provoked, like hatred of Islam, hatred of Jews, hatred of Shahis, hatred of successful people...

I haven’t seen yet a high number of comments about something we all agree upon, like the tragedy of children’s death. Most people are saddened by it. At least most of us. Sometimes the silence is a sign of agreement; sometimes it is a sign of helplessness. In the case of people like you, it is a sign of indifference or boredom. Still it is better than arrogance. Better than demanding to be entertained by something else....You could at least have the decency of remaining silent to scream your indifference.

But I really think you have a very low opinion about Iranians and especially about the Iranian.com readers. My own experience has been so different.

I cannot talk on SCE’s behalf, but after writing about Ali, I received so many emails from strangers (Iranian.com readers or not) who had read about Ali on the net and offered their help. And what was the final result of all these efforts done by SCE and EU and Amnesty? Thousands of people sent letters to the media and to Shahrudi to ask for forgiveness and to show that they do care about Ali and others like him... so Ali is still alive and by itself it represents hope.

So, I rather feel optimistic about our state of mind and I rather think that most of us – as most of the Iranians in Diaspora -- still do care about each other and also about the problems of our compatriots in Iran.

Why

I am willing to make a deal. If you change your campaign to "stop executions" as opposed to "stop child execution" and then provide some alternatives as opposed to just express your discomfort with execution, and if your alternative solutions are worth looking into, I will then have some interest. I think then you could have more supporters than 2 or 3 on this site. Face it, I am brave enough to at least say that I am bored with it - others simply ignore it. How many comments do you see here and under similar blogs? What does that tell you? The thing is what are we supposed to do? Feel sorry for a kid who possibly murdered someone? And then take his execution as a sign of repression of the regime? I am sorry if this is harsh but this issue does not exactly qualify as urgent - sad as it is. But if you take my suggestion above, then it will be different. Hardly anybody likes executing another person but you have to also have an answer for the victim's family who feels that killing the other person (even if possibly innocent) is the only way they will feel some sort of justice was done. Do you have a solution?

How can anyone read all the facts about these kids and not feel empathy and compassion?
How can anyone see what's going on in the world and choose to silence the ones who speak of it instead of crying outloud for justice and fairness?
How long does it take for a soul to die such horrible death that even the execution of the children would bore them?

what kind of human being do you have to be to get bored instead of getting outraged?

"people are executed everywhere. some of them are kids" you wrote. Can you inform of us readers about the governments "everywhere" that officially execute kids?  Iran who has more than 170 "kids" awaiting executions and then Saudi Arabis, Yemen and Sudan with 2 each. Where else "everywhere"?

On another note I am sorry to see you being so bored to "Death" by reading about news of Iran's ruling regime executing more of its population and children than "everywhere" else on our planet.

 There is a reason for the expression "bored to death" . Being very bored can lead to the "death" of man's spirit. In order to avoid such slow "death" you may wish to find a valuable cause and make a difference to value "life" instead.

Thanks a lot for making my point!

Yesterday I wrote a blog about SCE and I tried to make a point: 

".. It is amazing the amount of time you put in this task, with its ups and downs, hopes and despairs. And I am so amazed at your unselfish attitude toward these strangers, who might have been murderers or not. Look at other people here. Look at the rest of us! Most of us we really don’t care, or maybe we come up with excuses, like the use of the word “child”, the psychology of a 17 years old compared to an adult, or the real meaning of the word “child-prisoner”.

I live in LA and believe me, most of our compatriots here, would spend easily on shoes or jewelry or chelo-kabobs, but we would think twice before refusing to donate (much less than the price of a pair of shoes on sale) to any charity. “These charities are all charlatans!”, “If we help this charity, we wouldn’t be able to go back to Iran, ever.” We keep letting you down, and we are not ashamed, as long as our vacation is not messed up. .."

Yes, you are very lucky to to get bored to death so easily. unfortunately there are other who aren't as lucky as you are. But I know. it is still boring and meaningless to you. So, Bon appetit then and have a nice Chelo kabob!

It is all about control! Since 2003, the regime feels threatened by outside agenda, the American pressure and all that shit, that is why they hang people, especially young males in public! That is their way of creating fears! Qabous-e 1980s just wont go a way! Beenamoosi had o hesab nadr-e dar IRI. The mullahs are responsible, I mean the 5% of the Mullahs are responsible, the rest I can barely can forgive! What a sad state Iran is in!!!
