It is a great pleasure to introduce the Momeni Foundation's year 2009 scholarship award recipients to you. This year we are awarding $11,250 dollars to 21 well deserving students.

The following students have demonstrated outstanding achievements in both academics and social/civic causes.

Award Recipients for year 2009 (Total awards = $11,250 USD)

Scholastic Achievement Scholarships (Total = $3,000 USD)

Mr. Nima Ahmadi - $1000 Award
Mr. Ahmadi of Portland, OR graduated from high school with a GPA of 4.00 and class rank of 1/543. He has a long list of volunteering, awards and leadership positions. He will pursue a degree in Bio-Engineering at Stanford University in California.

Ms. Melody H. Maarouf - $1,000 Award
Ms. Maarouf of Phoenix, AZ graduated from high school with a GPA of 3.9 and a long list of volunteering, awards and leadership positions. She will pursue a degree in Chemistry/Neuroscience at John Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD.

Ms. Parisa Moghaddam-Taaheri - $1000 Award
Ms. Moghaddam-Taaheri graduated from high school with a GPA of 4.0 and long list of volunteering, awards and leadership positions. She will pursue a degree in Bio-Medical Engineering at John Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD.

Financial Assistance Scholarships – US Residents (Total = $6,750)

Ms. Susan Ghanbarpour - $750 Award
Ms. Ghanbarpour attends John Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD where she is pursuing a Doctorate degree in Public Health with emphasis in Women’s Health. Ms. Ganbarpour is receiving a scholarship for the third year.

Mr. Mona Rezapour - $500 Award
Ms. Rezapour attends John Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD where she is pursuing a degree in Medicine. Ms. Rezapour is receiving a scholarship for the second time.

Mr. Hamid Reza Baniasadi - $500 Award
Mr. Baniasadi attends Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN where he is pursuing a PhD in Chemistry. Mr. Baniasadi is receiving a scholarship for the third year.

Ms. Vahideh Rasekhikolokdaragh - $500 Award
Ms. Rasekhikolokdaragh attends California State University in Fresno, CA where she is pursuing a masters degree in Linguistics.

Mr. Herire Golnazarian - $500 Award
Mr. Golnazarian attends UCLA in Los Angeles, CA where he is pursuing a degree in Dentistry.

Ms. Sahar Hakim-Hashemi - $500 Award
Ms. Hakim-Hashemi of Plymouth MN will be attending MIT in Cambridge, MA where she will pursue a degree in Brain and Cognitive Sciences.

Mr. Arash Nayeri - $500 Award
Mr. Nayeri of Santa Monica, CA attends UC Berkeley, CA where he is pursuing a degree in Chemistry. Mr. Nayeri is receiving a scholarship for the second year.

Ms. Sahar Nayeri - $500 Award
Ms. Nayeri of Santa Monica, CA attends UC Berkeley School of Law in CA where she is pursuing a law degree in Public Interest / Civil Rights. Ms. Nayeri is receiving a scholarship for the third time.

Mr. Babak Aminitehrani - $500 Award
Mr. Aminitehrani attends UCLA Graduate School of Education in Los Angeles, CA where he is pursuing a Masters degree in Education.

Mr. Safa Gitisetan - $500 Award
Mr. Gitisetan attends UCLA in Los Angeles, CA where he is pursuing a degree in Cognitive Science.

Ms. Yasaman Yaghoubian - $500 Award
Ms. Yaghoubian of Beverly Hills, CA will be attending UCLA in Los Angeles, CA where she will pursue a degree in Pre-Medicine.

Ms. Marjan Ghahremani - $500 Award
Ms. Ghahremani attends University of Californian in Davis, CA where she is pursuing a degree in Psychology/Anthropology.

Ms. Yassmin Parsaei - $500 Award
Ms. Parsaei of Savannah, GA will attend Yale University in New Haven CT where she will pursue degrees in Chemistry and Spanish.

Mr. Saeed Shobeiri - $250 Award (CANADA)
Mr. Shobeiri of Montreal, QC, CANADA is pursuing a PhD degree in Business Administration (Marketing) from Concordia University – John Molson School of Business in Montreal, QC - Canada. Mr. Shobeiri is a forth year recipient of our scholarship.

Mr. Vazrik Amirjanians - $250 Award (ARMENIA)
Mr. Vazrik Amirjanians is pursuing a Medical degree from Yerevan State Medical University in Yerevan, ARMENIA. Mr. Amirjanians is a second year recipient of our scholarship.

Mr. Mahmoud Ravanan - $250 Award (ITALY)
Mr. Ravanan is pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree from Politecnico di Milano, ITALY. Mr. Ravanan is a second year recipient of our scholarship.

Mr. Saeed Akhlaghpour - $250 Award (CANADA)
Mr. Akhlaghpour is pursuing a PhD In Management from McGill University in Quebec, CANADA.

Ms. Baharan Zarrabian - $250 Award (CANADA)
Ms. Zarrabian is pursuing a degree in Microbiology and Immunology from McGill University in Quebec, CANADA.
