Dear friends:
Yesterday, in a meeting between the Dutch Ministry of Education and representatives of the universities in Holland, the Ministry agreed to withdraw its recent demand for a guarantee that the Iranian students not be allowed to have access to sensitive technical information.
Consequently the Technical University of Twente that had stopped accepting Iranian students in order to avoid potential penalties, changed its policy.
The Dutch universities and many scientific institutions worldwide strongly opposed this action of the Ministry of Education, and the Petition that was posted by the Iranian students received more than 4,000 signatures.
We should be pleased that another attempt to discriminate against the Iranian academic community has been stopped.
Many thanks for supporting the Iranian students in Holland,

> this ain't no victory....
by Another lost iranian in France (not verified) on Thu Jan 31, 2008 03:52 AM PSTWe iranians, currently have the worst image outisde the country. The real victory will be the return of those succesful and bright students to their homeland, so that they can contribute to the rise of Iran, under a different regime of course. Instead of this, we're begging Dutch, American, and now even Indian or Malaysian universities to let us sit our asses in their classroom. pathetic. sad and pathetic

Yes, our campaign did work!! United we shall stand against any traitor who wishes our students harm. The power of compassion, and love for our people is far greater than hate and revenge.
