I realise that I have been contributing towards Iranian.com for well over a year. Boredom, sad, frustration - there are many reasons which drives me to this wonderful site which has dominated almost every day of my life since I discovered it. One of the pleasures of Iranian.com is the virtual people I have come to know who are anonymous like myself but each having their own personalities. Like a novel you imagine the personal attributes of other users from what they do for a living, to how they look like and even what music they listen to. What are the stereotypes which comes into your mind? Let us imagine if we were casting actors for a film for Iranian.com how do you imagine you would look like? I really hope we can laugh at each other and not take things seriously.
VPK - White collar, professional type. Family man and compassionate. Probably a senior manager. Has receding hair and a bit large around the waste. Ends up arguing the toss about the smallest detail in the house until he gets his way! Music taste : Busy man. Hasn't got time for it.
Anahid Hojjati: Sophisticated and educated Iranian woman probably- the type my mother hangs round with. Dresses up in Dior and has Louis Vitton handbags. Peroxide highlights. Has expert manicured fingernails. Loves interior design and lavish Iranian dinner parties. Smokes Marlboro lights through a cigarette holder. Music Taste: Enya and Celine Dion

Bavafa (Mehrdad): Serious, bescpectacled type. Plain dressing and plain tastes. Chiseled chin and probably phsically strong. Loves Chelo-Kebab Music Taste: Shajarian and Iranian Classical Music.
Souri: Fun loving, out-going type. Loves to speak-out at work and organises social events. Probably a pain in the backside to her managers. Loves to get plastered as her rosy red cheeks show us. Music Taste: Loves dance and hip hop!
Roozbeh Gilani- Mobile, professional type. Dresses in smart casual. Always carries a netbook.Quick talking smart ass. Has a Che Guevara 'Hasta La Victoria' poster hanging on his wall. Music Taste: Fat Boy Slim, The Who
Rea: Probably looks like Barbaba Hershey with frizz hair. Not sure about her music taste. probably has an eclectic CD selection.
Tiger Lilly: Probably looks likes and dresses as Sosan Khanom above.
Amir Parviz for a Constitutional Monarchy: Sartorially dressed. Probably in real estate and changes cars once a year. House decorated with photos of the Shah and Shahbanou Farah. Loves beer and pistachios. Music Taste: Baba Karam.
As for me? :)

Tiger Lilly jan
by Simorgh5555 on Sun Oct 02, 2011 12:22 AM PDTEvery thing about you reminds of me the Iranian 'brat pack' that went to LSE: Loud, rebellious, educated, politically liberal and a hysterical personality. Furthermore, I bet you've been to those Iranian functions at Imperial College and SOAS. Your parents were well-to-do Iranians and sent you to a girls public school. You probably converse in Farsi but do not write.or read it very well- you probably went to madreseye Rostam on Saturdays. Your parents harass you to marry but you turn down all the suitors. You are free-spirited and very independent.
As for Yoga? It was just a gut instinct.
Tell me if I'm close. ;)
how on earth.... did you guess?
by Tiger Lily on Sat Oct 01, 2011 03:59 PM PDTsometimes I teach yoga and I did have a thing with LSE, but I left.
WI‰RD, how did you know?
Your favourite music is of course this.
hehe
Thank you Sosan Jan Thank
by Simorgh5555 on Fri Sep 30, 2011 03:23 PM PDTThank you Sosan Jan
Thank you also for not taking offence. I'm glad we can laugh at each other sometimes.
If people forget their political differences most people get along and have a lot in common.
LOL.... Simorgh
by Soosan Khanoom on Fri Sep 30, 2011 03:18 PM PDTWho would have thought that you can be such a cool guy? Thanks for this dose of fresh air ..... we all very much needed it .... . your blog is hilarious ... I loved it ..
You pretty much got everything right about me ... with the exception of nose-ring and music taste ... but I am Ok with it ...
: )
Simorgh aziz: Thank you.
by vildemose on Fri Sep 30, 2011 02:59 PM PDTSimorgh aziz: Thank you. Just accept it that as a male you do have a special gift; just enjoy it and put it to good use.
Yes, I'm a female and I definitely do not take IC seriously or myself or life in general.

Vildemose Jan
by Simorgh5555 on Fri Sep 30, 2011 02:52 PM PDTThank you for your lofty praise but I don't really have any great powers of perception. I built a profile in my head based on people I interacted with quite a lot in the past. I'm sure every body does it. Despite the cover of anonymity its surprising how some users leave huge traces of their personality and private life which I exaggerated for effect.
Although I'm read many of your posts you betray absolutely nothing about your personality which is a good thing! I put you in the same category as Yolanda and Maryam Hojat. To be honest I'm not even sure whether you are male or female although I read one post which claimed you were a female. However, I credit you for having a healthy attitude by not taking this internet site seriously. You say your piece and you move on and avoid getting too emotionally involved.
Simorgh jan: interesting
by vildemose on Fri Sep 30, 2011 07:46 AM PDTSimorgh jan: interesting blog. It illustrates your emotional intelligence and an penchant for observing and enjoying human species.
How do you see me???

by Simorgh5555 on Fri Sep 30, 2011 12:19 AM PDTWby is it that I think you and Sosan do Yoga and tried, but failed to be vegetarians?I'm not sure about by Sosan but you probably got a degree from LSE and took a massive gap year before going to Uni?Anahid- Are you the type always obsessing about weight (all Iranian women are like that so that's not difficult to imagine) and you do aerobics.Roozbeh-You are obsessed with exotic restaurants.
Thanks Bavafa jan,
by Anahid Hojjati on Thu Sep 29, 2011 05:09 PM PDTit is hard to picture ic writers but the ones whom i have met, did not surprise me.
"smart casual" :):)
by Roozbeh_Gilani on Thu Sep 29, 2011 04:48 PM PDTmore like sport casual!
But you are actually right on Che poster. I had one on my bedroom wall during my college days in londonistan during early ninties.
Really Funny blog Simorgh, cheers.
I forgot Pendar
by Simorgh5555 on Thu Sep 29, 2011 04:34 PM PDTi always imagined Pendar to be a woman until Tiger Lilly spoilt it for me by revealing he is a man! Pendar: Probably thin, very shy and retiring type. Speaks very slowly. Socially awkward. Fussy eater type. . Obseased with coffee. Sarcastic to people. Addicted to the net.
Not too bad either in describing me...
by Bavafa on Thu Sep 29, 2011 04:11 PM PDTThough not as serious you you may think
And the love of chelo-kabab goes counter to the love of climbing and I love climbing better then chelo-kabab hands down.
Anahid jaan: This shows I had pictured you all wrong but not so for all others.
