It is great to have discipline. Be very honest with you, not too many people with discpline like Iranians. I wish I had some discipline! It is amazing that you know so many different languages...you must have a great memory! I will start to save $$$, hopefully one day I can visit Iran....and do a photo essay on IC...:O)))
Good luck with everything!

by yolanda on Wed Nov 18, 2009 10:30 PM PSTHi BN,
Be very honest with you, I will be happy if I can live to 73, LOL! So 85 exceeds my expectationb big time! My maternal grandpa lived to 73, my maternal grandma lived to 100, my paternal grandpa lived to 90....I think 73 is my target!
You are right that I need to change my lifestyle. I think that will be my new year resolution for 2010, I promise! :O))
Take care!

by bajenaghe naghi on Wed Nov 18, 2009 10:18 PM PSTI was away for a few days.
Your test has you living to the young age of 85? And you say you are satisfied with that? OMG!! As we say in farsi at the age of 85 hanooz dahanet booye shir mideh. You really must make some drastic chages in your dangerous ifestyle to up the dying age from 85 to at least 95. :-)
BTW, the farsi bit means that you are very young at 85 becasue at that age you still smell of (your mother's) milk. ;-)

by yolanda on Wed Nov 18, 2009 09:45 PM PSTHi! BN,

by bajenaghe naghi on Wed Nov 18, 2009 09:38 PM PSTI always thought that if I lived to be at least 95, then I would die quite happily and contently. My dreams of long life was completely shattered when I took your test. I will, according to this test, live only to the young age of 91, and it all your fault! :-)

by yolanda on Wed Nov 18, 2009 07:58 PM PSTHi! Red Wine,
LOL! I understand that the alcohol content in the wine gives certain people the headache including me, of course! ........I am glad that you enjoy the red wine.....you must be doing something right 'cause according to the life expectancy calculator, you can live over 94 years old....I forgot to tell you that I have not had a drop of beer in my whole life, I don't want to try it....I don't want the "allergic reaction" :O))
You must be a very disciplined person 'cause you do listen to your doctor's adivce not to touch meat! That is great! I know it is very hard to do when you see something you like, but you can't eat it! I believe Iranians are very disciplined people comparing to people from other races, for example, Americans.
I recall Iranians had a silent march during the post-election protests....but, be very honest with you, I don't think Americans can pull off a silent march 'cause I know they can't be silent, :O)) they will make noises, they don't have the discipline!!
The poem from rooftops of Iran really touches me because of this line:
Where is this place where only with our "silence", we are sending our voices to the world.......This place is Iran
//www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKUZuv6_bus
I believe the poet was referring to the famous silent march! I feel like I want to cry 'cause I can feel Iranians' frustration with IRI.
Going to places requires money! If I have money, I want to visit my hometown 1st, I left my hometown when I was 15 years old and I have not been back....not even once......I also want to visit Iran......I like Esfahan, it is just gorgeous....if I have enough $$$, I will also visit Yazd and Tehran....
You are right that Iranians are carnivores! :O)) I just hope that they don't get any cardiovascular diseases 'cause I have a lot of respect for them and I hope they are happy and healthy!!!! As you know, if you eat too much meat, it can clog your arteries.......maybe, they can eat a lot of pomegranates and watermelons to balance out. :O))
take care!
P.S. Are you tri-lingual (3 languages) or quadrulingual (4 languages)? Englsih, Farsi, Spanish, and French?. It is exciting!!

by Red Wine on Wed Nov 18, 2009 03:45 PM PSTDear Yolanda, i was serious about allergy thing ! i met many... many ladies which were allergy about it ! (also champagne !!), is not just for grape,is about how is/was making/made
that wine !
I am telling you that because i have a huge intrest about red wines !
As i said before i love iranian food, but look at me now!!! i can not touche it :=( . Last mounth my Mom was in paris and she was very mad about it... you know,is very difficult to see the other ppl are eating :kufteh Tabrizi,Ab Gusht,Kotlet and etc and you cann't eat it !!!
American desert is diffrent ! If you want to know if you like desert or not,you should go to north of Africa desert ... i love being there... living between Turage ppl and etc ... i will go back again but of course if my Doctor let me :=D .
Iranian vegetarian diet you said ? well i don't know... iranian ppl are like Wolves ... we love to eat meat . hehehe
Take care you too :=) .

by yolanda on Wed Nov 18, 2009 03:30 PM PSTHi! Red Wine,
LoL! You are funny 'cause you said I am allergic to wine......the good thing is that I am not allergic to grapes, I just eat grapes instead! Japanese Sushi is great 'cause it is not greasy at all, good stuff.....I don't see over-weight Japanese people either....
I like your big word "Gastronomy", that is a beautiful word, thank you!!!!....I agree with you that Iranian food has a lot of meat products, but it is very delicious, I like Iranian seasoned rice, it is more delicious than Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, and Korean rice.....I also like the fact that they add saffron to the rice.....it is just beautiful.....I went to a Persian restaurant for Father' Day lunch, I had kebab with rice, after that, I took a Japanese girl there for Persian food again , I had lamb, it tasted great!
I travelled thru American deserts many times, but it is different type of desert, it is not sand desert (like Gobi desert), just dry-land with some tumble-weed and Joshua Trees, it is pretty! I did not have oxygen problem...I went to Aspen, Colorado, in August, I got a little oxygen problem due to the high elevation, 7000 ft above sea-level. I had to breathe extra hard.....
I hope people will invent Iranian vegetarian diet.....so you can still have the Persian food!
Take care!

I tried to be a vegetarian a couple of times, but I got sick, I could feel my immune system was weakened......maybe I did not do the right way.....I am glad that vegetarian diet works for you......I drank wine one time to put myself to sleep 'cause I had insomnia, but next morning I woke up with splitting headache.....after that, forget about drinking wine.
