Flying to Australia on Air Singapore, and wanting to avoid the crapy films they were showing on the personal TV, I happened upon a German film which was meant for the German passengers of Air Singapore. It was called Gripsholm and it was about inter-war Germany, the decadent era, and about the rise of the Nazis.

One of the main characters was a luscious cabaret singer with a haunting voice who sang a few songs which even now I can't get out of my head. When I came back, I looked up the film and lo-and-behold the haunting beautiful voice behind the songs belongs to an Iranian-German woman, Jasmin Tabatabai. She was also the ultra-sexy actress in the film!
