Yousefi & Edrisi

Peace-tree cyclists

On Monday  Sept. 17, 2007  Nasim Yousefi and  Jafar Edrisi two Iranian peace and conservation cyclists arrived at Toronto from Amsterdam on their journey, cycling the world.  The couple plan to pedal through Canada an plant peace trees while waiting for US visa , if it is approved , they will to enter from Montreal to New York otherwise flew to Venezuela to continue their mission.

I welcomed  them on their arrival and interview them that is in Persian. Although in most dictionaries bicycle has been defined as a type of man-powered vehicle, used for transportation and in sports, these days people use it for all different sort of purposes! Nasim and Jafar started their journey in April 2007, with a message for people of the world: peace and environmental conservation. They expect their journey to take something around two years! They have gone through Iran, Turkey, Greece, Italy, France, Belgium, Germany and Netherlands and planted a tree in every country they cycled through.

Nasim and jafar started  their journey to London Ontario and next week they will go biking with Toronto Iranian group from Toronto to Niagara falls. They plan to go through USA, Japan, Korea, China, Nepal, India, Pakistan, and back to Iran. Their path depends on being able to get the visas from those countries, Perhaps we can help them on this segment of their  journey when they get here.
