What is his name again?
by mohseni (not verified) on Fri Aug 15, 2008 06:19 PM PDTWhat is his name again? Ayatollah Javadi Amoghli
This quotation just sums him up :
by Tahirih on Fri Aug 15, 2008 05:52 PM PDTLeaders of Religion, in every age, have hindered their people from attaining the shores of eternal salvation, inasmuch as they held the reins of authority in their mighty grasp.
Some for the lust of leadership, others through want of knowledge and understanding, have been the cause of the deprivation of the people.
God will hold responsible religious leaders for this tragedy, who have presumed to speak for Him throughout history. Their attempts to make the Word of God a PRIVATE preserve, and its exposition a means for PERSONAL aggrandizement, have been the greatest single handicap against which the advancement of civilization has struggled.

by Kaveh Nouraee on Fri Aug 15, 2008 05:49 PM PDTI hate to make it so simple, but it is, I'm afraid.
The factor that holds them in place is fear. The fear they have instilled in the people fuels their regime, and as new generations are born, that fuel supply is continuously renewed.

Mehdi Joon, There is No Mystery
by Keyvan Talebi on Fri Aug 15, 2008 03:01 PM PDTIranians, including you and this Xerxes character, supported them 30 years ago and support them today with your twisted politics. Please go read some of the posts by Xerxes about the IRI. Now that he can't defend this idiot, he thinks that they will go away some how in "10 years". Good luck on trying to make these idiots go away without resort to violence. It will never happen as long as there is oil to feed their Sigheh loving habits.
He Is Not The Only One
The mystery is how could these people rule?
by Mehdi on Fri Aug 15, 2008 02:29 PM PDTSome people say mullahs are extremely brilliant and that is how they hijacked the "revolution." But listening to this guy as an example, it doesn't make sense. He is not only not brilliant, in fact he couldn't rule a poker club if his life depended on it. So the mystery is, how could this crowd overrule the intelligent Iranians? Is it possible some other factor is holding them in place?
Thanks for the info Party Girl

by Party Girl on Fri Aug 15, 2008 12:41 PM PDTAyatollah Javadi Amoli is a very powerful and important figure in contemporary Iranian theocracy and politics. He is so important, as Siavash Ardalan says in the clip, that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told him about the halo business at UN first, trying to get his positive reaction before moving on to tell others. Though he is an extreme conservative, you should know that he didn't give Mahmoud Ahmadinejad his "blessing" about the halo business. Anyhow, here are English and Farsi Wikipedia pages about him.

That we have too many idiots who are always in charge, in any name, for any purpose. Eventually, within the next ten years most of these idiots would be dead and hopefully the replacements would be put to work rather than podium. Amen
By the way, Great O-Hum song at the end.
