Malihe Kigasari (right) and and her partner Elizabeth Kristen, browse through a flower display while shopping for wedding bouquets at the San Francisco Flower Mart. The Oakland couple tied the knot at San Francisco City Hall on June 17, the first day same sex marriages became legal in California. San Francisco Chronicle: "Standing amid a sea of brilliantly colored blooms at the San Francisco Flower Mart on a recent morning, Mali Kigasari, 49, and Elizabeth Kristen, 41, realized they needed a bridal style - and fast. Were they big, pink peony types or were yellow calla lilies more their speed? Or maybe something unexpected like a branch from a lemon tree?">>>more

May we also see a day when Iran joins the ranks of Spain, Sweden and now Mass, and CA in the US in giving all Iranians their civil rights. Full rights for women, religious minorities, ethnic minorities, degarandishan and finaly degar-jens-garayan va hamjens-garayan.

by Payam S (not verified) on Thu Jun 19, 2008 12:31 AM PDTI'm happy for who ever experiences love and pleasure from another human being regardless of gender and skin color. But I would have to express that it is a shame that human beings need a law or a decree from artificial and illegitimate institutions such as the state or the church to practice and express their love.
Peace and Understanding,

Pitty Iran
by Bacheh Tehroon (not verified) on Wed Jun 18, 2008 07:50 PM PDTI am sorry for Iran. She/he! has been chosen as Iranian of the Day. No she can be Iranian, but not of-the-day type. Iranians of the day are those female university students who fight for their country with mullas. Whoa er being tortured in prisons. Those who have been living in Iran and growing up their children with love and passion, the childern who are now comming to the west and are the best students in their universities.
Btw, which one is he and which one is she? It seems that Iranian one is more macho. Mobarakeh ishallah :D
OK, So?
by A. Naani-Mousse, Esq. (not verified) on Wed Jun 18, 2008 06:33 PM PDTI have no objections to how anyone wishes to live their lives, so long as they don't hurt or impose upon anyone. But is it really necessary to validate this in the way that it is being done?
This is far from monumental, as: A) same-sex marriages are recognized elsewhere in the world already, and: B) since half of all marriages end in divorce, the only real winners here are the divorce attorneys, who now have a larger client pool.
congrats????
by Anonymous2134 (not verified) on Wed Jun 18, 2008 05:32 PM PDTFor what? And they have made history???? I did not know that we have lost all sight of morality and human existential truth so much that we see something like this as needing congratulations.

by Ali P. on Wed Jun 18, 2008 04:22 PM PDT"Malihe" sounds and is in fact Iranian, but "Kigasari"?
There is a village called "Kigasar" somewhere in Iran?
Is it supposed to mean anything?
Or they slaughtered her last name?
Just curious.
