A French Interview of the Shah where he claims to Iran's right to nuclear military capability [video with English translation]. Year ? Most probably mid 1970's. It should be noted that the Shah justifies such nuclear military technology for Iran with the argument that his country is not a member of NATO unlike his neighbour Turkey. Also that as a neighbour to the Soviet Union it had absolutely no military protection other than its own military ( at the time one of the most powerful in terms of conventional non nuclear weaponry)

a greter man, much much
by Anonymous500 (not verified) on Mon Aug 18, 2008 01:45 PM PDTa greter man, much much greater than the Shah, was Dr. Mosaddeq who told him with all goodness in his heart that the Shah of Iran should not reign as a monarch, but should act as a national symbol. He did not listen to that wise man and got what he deserved; the same is about to happen to these muderous, criminal and treasenous mullahs, and soon.

Even Israel wanted him out because they were scared of him. A very costly mistake for the West and Israel.

Nothing else would control the Iranians better than Islam. Short of Islam in Iran half of former Soviet Union Republics would join Iran as a unified land.
Let's kick all the British out of Iran. Let's bring Chinese, Japanese and Argentineans to Iran and get rid of the smelly old European colonialists. This infection must be sanitized from our land.
I can't watch this stuff

Chi bood - o - Chi shood
by t (not verified) on Mon Aug 18, 2008 11:24 AM PDTEverytime I hear the Shah speak I wonder about Iranians. Why would you replace a well spoken, worldly, educated, world-class person with an "Akhoond" or "ahmadinezhad" like.
I know this will trigger all you "dehatis" with an "oghdeh" to write about the corruption under the Shah and the Shah's Savak, etc...
My response. I see you have successfully dealt with these issues the past 30 years! Yes, 30 years is sufficient time but no not only it has not gotten better, it's gotten worst. The gap between the rich and the poor is worst, the economy is at its lowest, the morality of the people is out the door, the number of executions is awarding winning, and the future looks brighter than ever.
You need to thank those who took to the streets in 78-79 for this major fuck-up. It wasn't BBC, it wasn't anyone else who did this to us. That generation of people who are themseleves still confused and lost caused this. So, if you are one of those who joined the herd during the demonstrations, take responsibility and if you see your kids suffer today understand that you did it to them and to the youth of others.
