What pair of shoes should I choose
For the upcoming dandy dance?
Are my feet better off in blue
Bright shoes or black buckle shoes?
What of these fancy cocktail shoes?
Look, there’s a paper stuck
To my pretty pointy shoes
Can you see the hand writing
On this intriguing refuse?
This is what I think it says:
Hell is but, I can taste it,
A span of life so wasted
In the worry for the shoes
When the feet are wholly bare
Of the thought of wandering
Across the desert of love.

Thank you. You are sweet and have the Midas touch with compliments :-). Haven’t seen Mirza Nowruz’s Shoes. I wonder if it’s on DVD.

Lovers' desperation in love stories from "Vis o Ramin" to "Romeo & Juliet "told in your words especially:

"When the feet are wholly bare
Of the thought of wandering
Across the desert of love

you have a Midas Touch with words!.

I don't know why your poem brought back the memory of " Kafshhaaye mirza-Nowruz" & Ali Nasiriyan?!.

If hell has a color...

by Azarin at work (not verified) on

If I had to draw hell, I would have colored it in red, like fire, like anger, like love!
And a wasted life is always black...or even worse, just like a blank page!
Does it help you my dear Azadeh, in choosing the right shoes for this "dandy dance"?

Thanks for sharing your lovely poem with us!

so true!

Azadeh jan, you have a way with words! your words twisted and carried away my imagination following the shoes, ending up with the alarming notion that I might have wasted so much time already and should really be desperate for love...

that was beautiful, thanks!!
