Little is known about Ariobarzanes (Old Persian Ariyabrdna) life or his exact birth date; however historical evidence tells us that he was born into a wealthy, noble Persian family and he is probably descended from the earlier satraps of Cyrus the Great, Darius I and Xerxes I. It is interesting to note the fact that high King Darius III had appointed him satrap (or viceroy) of Persis. It seems that in the past, this position had not existed>>>

ولادیمیر سوروکین نویسنده کمابیش جنجالی روس، با چاپ داستان‌‌هایی که در ٢٠ سال گذشته نوشته، توانسته است برای خود در ادبیات روسیه اعتباری فراهم آورد. مهم‌ترین دستاورد ادبی او این است که موفق شده شیوه‌ی تازه‌ای در داستان‌نویسی برای نشان دادن خشونت ابداع کند و به‌این‌ترتیب بر غنای ادبی روسیه افزوده است. سوروکین که تجربه‌ی زندگی در دیکتاتوری تک‌حزبی شوروی را از سر گذرانده، رمان‌هایش با هیچیک از تعاریفی که برای رمان روسی در دست داریم، مطابقت ندارد>>>

Ahmadinejad tried to resist pressure from the supreme leader and lost. He has been badly weakened by recent events. Many have compared Ahmadinejad’s likely fate with that of Abulhassan Banisadr, the Islamic Republic’s first president who fell out with Khomeini and was forced into exile. Iran’s semi-official Mehr news agency reported last week that several members of parliament had revived a bid to summon Ahmadinejad for questioning over “recent events”>>>

مدتی پیش در پایان یک میهمانی خانوادگی، از دخترم پرسیدم: «از این‌که دوستاتو دیدی حسابی خوشحال شدی یا نه؟» او در جوابم بلافاصله گفت: «آره، همه شب‌رو با دوستام بازی کردم. برعکس شما که تمام شب اونجا نشستین و داد زدین.» واکنش اولیه‌ام لبخند گیجی بود که تحویل دخترم دادم، ولی بعد از دیدن رضایتی که در صورت دخترم موج می‌زد سکوت کردم. بلافاصله اما از عکس‌العمل خودم دلخور شدم>>>

به جرأت می توان گفت که فروغ فرّخزاد اوّلین شاعریست دردرازنای تاریخ شعر فارسی که شعرش از جنسیّت او و از دلیریش در بر ملا کردن این امر خبر می دهد. ما زنان ایران همگی وامدار این بانوی دلیر در شعر فارسی و پیشقدم در رهائی و آزادی زنان هستیم. در شعر پروین اعتصامی که فقط ۲۵ سال یعنی حدود یک ربع قرن پیش از فروغ می زیست با همه صلابت و فخامتش، خوانندۀ ناشناس به شعرهای او نمی تواند جنسیّت شاعر را گمانه زند و براحتی می توان بجای پروین یک اسم مردانه زیر شعر گذاشت>>>

Undoubtedly, the death of such murderous creature, especially when he holds the top position within a reactionary and terrorist political-ideological network does not raise anybody’s compassion or sadness but his own supporters. Surely, the world is a safer and more humane place without the likes of Bin Laden, Khamenei, and all the leaders of the Islamic regime of Iran, the leaders of political Islamic movement and the leaders of state terrorism>>>
