1. Convictions
Humans have zeal
We are creatures
Who venerate
This is true even
For those who
Don’t know
What is worthy?
And find substitutes
In kings, ayatollahs
Film stars, honors
Power, property
And lots of cash

2. The Fight
I tease those
Preoccupied
With respectability
Through conformity
And material values
About their shallow lives
In turn,
When they make the corner
And see me
They pick up stones
***
3. The Test
Do you want to test yourself?
Then demonstrate the limits of your patience
See if you can surpass the prophet Job
Give kindly to him who injures you
He who tries to scratch out your eyes,
Treat him with gentleness and generosity
Do not be less than a kindly brother,
Give fruits to him who throws stones at you
