This moment in history

Congratulations to all for witnessing one of the most historic moments of our lives. Obama's victory was not just an American victory, it was a victory for all nations. It gives hope and inspiration to all human beings around the globe and it brings back our belief in the future, that good, common sense, and the notion that we are "our brother's keeper," as Obama so brilliantly kept saying during his campaign, prevails over self-serving greed that has consumed the human race in the last decade.

In my opinion there have been many heroes during this race, those who have brought us inspiring moments, demonstrating grace, human decency, and above all, unity for the good of all in the midst of all the chaos and the dirty political race to the top. I can never forget Hillary Clinton's concession speech and her grace and complete selflessness in her support for the under dog who came from the back and beat her in the race of her life. And then that of Bill's.

It was hard to be on any side of this campaign and not come to tears. The way she went on fighting for him during his campaign bringing everyone together by saying, "did you support me, Hillary, or the cause?" She is truly an American hero and an inspiration to all women. She put her ego and her self interest to the side and fought for the bigger cause and that's why she moved and inspired me and so many others through her grace and complete and undeniable support for the bigger cause during this race ... what a great leader/teacher!

I also think one of the most powerful speech's of this campaign, which should go down in history in the same category as that of Dr. King's "I have a dream," was the one given by Bill Clinton, during the Democratic Convention. He said, "Let us not lead by the example of our power but the the POWER OF OUR EXAMPLE!" those were incredible words by an incredible man who lead this country to greatness.

It reminds us of why we all gravitated to this country and why the rest of the world is so eager to do the same. It's the American way of life, the hope that dreams can come true with hard work no matter which walk of life you come from there is hope for you and not the fear or the prejudice and the hunger for war that has driven this country in the past 8 years.

I thought about those words for weeks and I thought about how it applies to our everyday life ... How our actions are more powerful than our words and how our children learn from the examples we put forth and how power is in who we are every day of our lives..

But as always, one thing I love about America is the grace and the spirit of sportsmanship that exists and prevails over ego and selfish motives which was clearly demonstrated by every one of these leaders.

Again, I don't care which side of the game you were on, but it was hard not to get moved by McCain's concession speech last night. It was undoubtedly a hard up-hill battle for him and he fought a very hard and emotional fight.

He pulled out every old and new trick in the book for the race to the White House. But at the end once he knew he is not going to win, he was NOT a sore loser and threw his unconditional support behind his rival and asked all his supporters to do the same for the love his country above and beyond everything else. That demonstrated a true patriot and a man who did was he preached: "country first!"

There are so many lessons to be learned from all this, personal and not so personal, but at the end we must know that all these demonstrations / games were put in front of us for a reason and for a bigger cause: the human growth.

Just imagine for a moment, that if the election in 2000 wasn't stolen the way it was in Florida and there was NO BUSH, would we have such a meaningful victory today .. would there be a "Barack Obama?!" ... would history be made the way it was ... just a food for thought .. but then why did it happen the way it did...what were the lessons learned!

Anyway, lastly, please accept my humility and profound gratitude for taking your valuable time and perhaps boring you with my re-cap of all that consumed us in the last two years, but I was overwhelmed with emotions this morning and felt the urge to share my thoughts as I woke up filled with joy because I have never been more proud, moved and inspired to be apart of history and a part of this great hosting country that we have come to call our home. I watched my 17-year-old son and my 13-year-old daughter break into tears as the election was called and I just could not imagine a more important moment in history.

I only pray that our motherland and the rest of the world is watching and learning from the great lessons we have been so privileged to observe.

May God bless the human race, America and our motherland, Iran!

Blindness

by Abol (Laal) Danesh, Mute (not verified) on

Three facts about Obama that you should not forget:

1. He is a blind man
2. He is lonely and has nobody
3. He is in the sealed box trying to get out

Quotable notable: Whoever undertakes to set himself up as a judge of Truth and Knowledge is shipwrecked by the laughter of the gods. -- Albert Einstein

Hillary Clinton's

Hillary Clinton's concession speech and her grace and complete selflessness in her support for the under dog who came from the back and beat her in the race of her life. And then that of Bill's.

The depth of the naievete evident in that statement is astounding. Grace and selflessness? This woman and her husband are so shameless and brazen in their quest for power they would have sold their souls (if they had any) in order to secure a win. It was Hillary's campaign office that started the nonsense rumors about Obama being Moslem.

It was only after bitter debate and the cold realization that the Democratic Party would abandon her like a foreclosed house that she conceded defeat to the now-president-elect. She wouldn't concede unless they retired her campaign debt.

New Way of Thinking: Break away from Clitche

by Anonymous54 (not verified) on

Both Obama and Mccain were Bomb.

Obama upfront said openly yes I am O "Bama"
Mccain was not too upfront and was a little shy about his bomb

E= Mc*c Bomb
E = MC**2 Bomb

Mccain is BOMB(ain)...

Translating it back to persian that is how it goes...

Jonh looks like a Bomb
Barack Is a Bomb

:)

Okay back to work ...enough of this psychodelic form of thinking...

Having known you for the last twelve years,
I am so moved by the depth of your observations and your own coming of age
as well.

As for the history in making, America
revived and redefined itself last night. Once again, the U.S. has
regained its respect globally.

Our hopes & prayers are with the president elect to do good and be able to come through for this nation and globally.
