Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day
by Ghahremani

Before I became “Mother”

Worry was just a word

Sleep meant long, peaceful nights

Didn’t need fairytales, lullabies or sweet lies

Before I encountered motherhood

Tiny fingers wouldn’t tug at my heart

Someone else’s pain couldn’t make me die

Toothless grins didn’t light up my universe

Before I was “Mom”

I never gave unintended pain

My quiet did not bury unspoken words

And I didn’t hear another’s scream in silence

Before motherhood

I was neither loved as deeply, nor resented so

I could dream of perfection

Or just dream

Happy Mother’s Day to me

With a gift of each and every day

I’ll be “Mom” even when I no longer am

And my heart will live and live and live ...

Happy Mothert's Day

by Anonymous55555 (not verified) on

I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy

I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

I'm lazy.

by Francesco Sinibaldi (not verified) on

When the night
comes back
telling a story, I'm
lazy: beautiful
sounds of a primitive
faith appear in
my mind, and even
that arrow describes,
in a moment, the
slippery darkness
of a tender caprice,
there, where a
light fades away......

How true

"Worry was just a word, sleep meant long, peaceful nights and someone else's pain couldn't make me die"

 How true you described motherhood!

Happy Mother's Day to you Ms. Ghahremani for being such a sensitive Mother.

M - O - T - H - E - R

by Mona 19 on

"M" is for the million things she gave me,

"O" means only that she's growing old,

"T" is for the tears she shed to save me,

"H" is for her heart of purest gold;

"E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining,

"R" means right, and right she'll always be,

Put them all together, they spell

"MOTHER,"

A word that means the world to me.~ Howard Johnson

Dear Ghahremani,Nice Poem, and so True :)

Happy Labor Day

Oh mother I love you
And to prove it
I do everything at my disposal
To make sure
You never witness
The death of your child
Before closing your eyes saying good bye
For it is that pain
That you can't endure
Despite your established record of endurance
When passing me in hard excruciating labor
From one world to the other
