Annonymous111 and others
by Dariush (not verified) on Mon Apr 06, 2009 09:27 AM PDTWould you please stop writing so much negative comments about west. I was getting a little optimistic and seeing a little light at the end of the tunnel, but now you say Khomeini was raised by British and U.S.A. So, was khomeini their fault too?
Damn, I guess we will never figure out these devils.
A. Novin, Re: anonymous gol-dust
by Anonymous111 aka barg-dust (not verified) on Mon Apr 06, 2009 08:18 AM PDTMr. / Ms. Novin
Thank you for your words of reason. You are absolutely right. I don't know what the difference is between Anonymous111 and gol-dust. For the sake of the argument though, and to make our friend happy here, I will call myself barg-dust.
You are also right about foreign support for Khomeini that the likes of Mr. / Ms. anonymous gol-dust try to sweep under the carpet. Khomeini lived and was propped up, in Iraq--Iran, and Shah's, biggest rival and enemy in the 1960's an 1970's, and a country with which Iran ACTUALLY went to war in 1975. Compare that with today's Israel, with which Iran has NOT gone to war, but is arguably Iran's biggest rival in the region. Can you imagine if an Iranian opposition figure comes out of Israel today and claims to be the leader of a new Iranian revolution?!!!!! These people are accusing a guy from inside IRAN, who participated in student demonstrations, of being an Israeli agent. You can only imagine what they will call someone coming out of Israel itself! But to them, the Iraqi Bathists' propping of Khomeini against the Shah (so that they can get rid of the Algiers agreement and attack Iran, which they did) was no problemo! All in a day's work!! So much for empty long live Iran slogans!
And I'm not even going to talk about other foreign support for Khomeini, i.e., the BBC, whose Iranian anchors, and the ones running the BBC Persian section, were all a bunch of Todeh members or were otherwise leftist / communists who hated the Shah (i.e., Khnoji). And let's not forget the French support. The guy flew into Iran on Air France for God's sake. Can you imagine an opposition figure flying into Iran on American Airlines today?!!!! These people will eat him / her up alive!!!
I guess in the Islamo-world what's good for the goose is not good for the gander!!!

Goldust, I find it quite
by Internets on Mon Apr 06, 2009 02:01 AM PDTGoldust, I find it quite ironic that you have the audacity to challenge posters in here for their lack of "proper" research, whereas you, yourself, are no less guilty than those who you accuse of, "relying on Iranian.com" as their sole source of information.
For the sake of those with total reliance on Iranian.com, how about I illuminate you about that "Cross wearing girl in the program". Her name is Lily Mazahery and you can read more about her:
//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lily_Mazahery
Now, as for the rest of your diatribe and the customary "Long Live Iran" chants, here is my personal comment to you:
I am not worried about Iran. It has out lived cretin savants like you for thousands of years and it shall continue to do so, irrelevant of your wishes. Now, go and get a grip ;-)
I agree with gol-dust
by Dariush (not verified) on Mon Apr 06, 2009 01:19 AM PDTPlease forgive them gol-dust! Some of them are so full of hate, they can not think straight. Some just like to fight someone. Some are doing their jobs and some are plain ...... and can not differentiate an Iran lover from IRI supporter. There is nothing suggesting you support IRI.
Ahmad Batebi should speak out, but he has taken his case to the wrong court. America is not the court of justice, but lies, deceive and injustice. He should have taken his case to a country that hasn't committed the most heinous crimes in the world, so that the action of that country could have some effects.
If west cared about freedom and human rights for Iranians, they would not have violated those rights for the passed 100 years in Iran.
An Iraqi journalist who's country has been invaded, destroyed, his country men killed and injured by millions, raped and tortured in and out of abughurabe and many other underground prisons by American justice, received 3 years jail and got beaten for throwing a shoe at one of the most criminal man in the recent human history. What happened to his human rights? People in America get long jail sentences for petty crimes and politicians get dressed and paid very well for killing millions. And you expect what?
With all these said, There is no excuse for the crimes against Batebi and other political prisoners in Iran. They must be freed! I hope Batebi's action bring positive results for political prisoners in Iran, not negative.
"Fraud of Patriotism"
by A.Novin (not verified) on Mon Apr 06, 2009 12:14 AM PDTGol-dust:
You have a lot of nerve to accuse annonymous111 of being annonymous when you go by the name "Gol-dust." That's as annonymous as annonymous111.
Moreover, you profess to love Iran, but you're quick to betray your ideology when you label America as "evil emperialist." Those are code words fot the leftist loons that are still in our midst. Your era of pillage and thievery are over, my friend. Why is it that we never hear about all the thievery of the left over the last century? It's always the evil emperialism of America. How about the 30 million that were killed by Stalin for example? Or their invasions into Eastern Europe (Hungary, Czech, Poland, etc.) and Afghanisan. It's always the dreaded evil USA!
Islamists routinely claim that they want the IRI to go away, but at the hands of Iranians and only Iranians! Because they know that with a thug regime like the IRI, it is very difficult to overthrow them without outside help, if only moral support.
Revolutions do not happen in a vacuum. Even your Ayatollah Khomeini had tremendous help from the BBC, ergo aka Ayatollah BBC. As such, when the BBC was lighting a match to the Islamic revolution, Iranians should have rejected it as foreign machinations!
When it comes to overthrowing totalitarian regimes outside help is crucial. The regime and their lackeys know this. That's why they are deathly scared of foreign support for an uprising. They know full well that the second Iranian revolution will be encouraged in a big way from outside Iran!
Really! Check the facts Mr. Anonymous 111! Do your research!
by gol-dust on Sun Apr 05, 2009 10:13 PM PDTWho are you any way defending 60 minutes producers? After all, you are only anonymous No.111!
They had one program that you liked about Bob Simon which I had watched and enjoyed as well. Now because of it they are not who they are? Really! Why don't you send us the links about all those programs that demonized the Palestinian people, and glorified the Shah? Let's look at the producers and founders and all those who are in charge!
Do you think that they had Iran's interests in mind? If this guy had anything good to say about Iran, he would not be there! The guy lives in Washington DC for the past few years and works for VOICE OF AMERICA! Did you hear that? VOA! NOT VOICE OF IRAN or IRANIANS! Understandingly, he hates mollahs, as we do, and helping US & israel as MEK did!
I have no problem with what he said but I have problem with real intention of this government using him against my country! If this would help to overthrow the mollahs I would be very happy, but it won't! US & Israel never have good intention for my country! Never! And that's the angle that I look at the whole thing!
You really are proving how well informed you are! It shows how deeply you are involved and have done a thorough research! I wonder if this was a graduate research project, I could give you anything more than an "F!"
The problem with you guys is that any one of us who defends Iran and the Iranian people, you very comfortably call us IRI supporters!!!! Shame on you! We love our country and we hate her enemies whoever they are (Iranians and forigners!)
You don't know anything about us! You guys don't even know that some of us have brothers and sisters who can never go back to Iran and haven't seen each other for 30 years, because of their opposition to this satanic regime! We hate them with passion, but we would never betray IRAN!
All we are saying is that Iranians don't need Israel, US, Uk's help in getting rid of the mollahs! They are not going to help us to get the real independence and freedom for Iran! It is only for their own damn intersts and evil imperialsm purposes! Israel cares only for the zionists and they hate all their neighbors!
Did you even see the girl in the program wearing a cross? Who is she anyway? Who does she work for? What is her backgorund Mr. Anonymous 111? Enlighten us with your research please! Please don't limit yourself in searching only Iranin.com as your sole source! .... and who did you say you were?
Long Live IRAN!

by Masoud Kazemzadeh on Sun Apr 05, 2009 04:57 PM PDTI just saw the 60 Minute program. I am so proud of Ahmad Batebi. He is a true hero. Batebi is a brave young pro-democracy activist, that under so much pressure and torture, did not betray his ideals, principles, fellow pro-democracy students, and the desire of the Iranian people for freedom, democracy, and human rights.
I am so proud of a nation that has produced the likes of Sattar Khan, Mossadegh, Parvaneh Eskandari-Forouhar, and Batebi.
I wish to express my utmost gratitude to Mr. Batebi for his struggles and sacrifices for the Iranian people and our desire for freedom, democracy, and human rights.

Quickest way to bring down IR in less than 24 hours ...
by Ardeshir Ariana on Sun Apr 05, 2009 03:21 PM PDTI need everyone`s help on this. Suppose if we make a magic box which will intercept the IR media (TV & Radio) and then we will broadcast our own program. We will then have less than 10 minutes to broadcast what we want to say in order to get the people inside Iran to rise up.
1) This magic box must be made by Iranian engineers only.
2) What would you say if you were behind that microphone to the people in order to get them to rise up by millions and finish this regime in less than 24 hours ?
P.S. Remember you have less than 10 minutes to talk to people. Give me your feed back.

Are you out of your mind? or you are supporter of IRI?
I don't understand why some iranians are KASE DAGHTAR AZ ASH when it comes to palestians?
Palestians and their problem with Israel has nothing to do with Iran and Iranians. God knows how much I hate to hear anything about palestians.

It's amazing how many
by smm (not verified) on Sun Apr 05, 2009 09:34 AM PDTIt's amazing how many supporters of the IRI are threatned by the truth.
I have a few questions for the IRI sympathizers:
Do you realize that you are the Islamic Taghootis who will eventually have the same fate as they did??
Do you really think the IRI will survive forever? Don't you fear for your lives and livelihood once this regime implodes??
There are still Nazi collaborators who are brought up to justice after 80 years. One was just arrested the other day.
You people are nothing but collaborator and accomplices who will eventually have to pay for your crimes.
You might be able to fool yourselves but you can't fool God and decent peopel.
Justice will prevail even if takes a long time.

by Fair on Sun Apr 05, 2009 09:11 AM PDTThe difference is this- all the crimes you mention the US did are documented and out in the open, and people write books about them and don't get sentenced to solitary confinement and their head stuck in a toilet.
In other words, there are PLENTY of people calling out these crimes, and there is less of a need to add to them.
NOT the case for the Islamic republic I'm afraid. We rarely hear details of this regime's barbarism, and I have heard Iranians even show more outrage towards Israel and its treatment of Palestinians than they do towards the Islamic republic (which has killed more Iranians than Israel has killed Palestinians, and has driven more Iranians from home than Israel has driven Palestinians from theirs, and has afforded less rights to its victims than Israel has to theirs).
And Europe, Russia, China, Asia have much larger trade with Iran than the US has with Israel. We hear about Israel's and the US crimes all the time. Now for me if one man comes on 60 minutes and explains the Islamic Republic's crimes against him and his prison mates, NO PROBLEM.
And finally, please share with us how you come up with the figure "millions" killed by regimes in Indonesia, Zaire, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Chile, and Argentina. In Chile, about 3000 people died under Pinochet. Argentina's dirty war resulted in about 30,000 disappeared. Guatemala in its decades long civil war lost about 200,000 from all sides. In the case of Indonesia, the invasion of East Timor is estimated to have been 100,000 (at most several hundred thousand). Nicaragua's civil war lost about 60,000. Zaire depends on which period and conflict you are talking about. But all of these figures are for all sides, and the highest figures are for when there was a war when there was another side also shooting, not for a government killing unarmed citizens. Plus most of these were in the context of the cold war, which means the USSR was on the other side in most cases and their hands were not exactly clean either.

Iranians should be proud of Ahmad Batebi
by Fair on Sun Apr 05, 2009 08:35 AM PDTI certainly am and tremendously. When I see this young man standing up and speaking for his fellow students and all our rights, and having such dignity, I am even more proud of my country- a country which produces people like this.
Ahmad Batebi is a free man. Any of you who can't handle what he says realize this: he has been silenced long enough and tortured long enough. He doesn't need your or my approval to say his opinions just as you don't need his to say yours. Shame on those who try to discredit this torture victim for refusing to be silenced.
That being said, freedom for us will come from within, from people like Ahmad, BUT ONLY IF WE IRANIANS SUPPORT HIM. Because if we don't, foreigners who have their own agenda will hijack and ruin this struggle, and once again as many times in the past, we Iranians will lose yet another opportunity to advance ourselves- once again, we bicker and cut down our best and brightest, while foreign powers and domestic fascists cash in on our disunity and stupidity BIG TIME.
I invite all of my compatriots to support Ahmad Batebi, to support the student and womens and workers and civil rights movement in Iran, and in doing so, to say loudly to the world- NOT THIS TIME BUDDY. NOT THIS TIME.
And yes, the US committed terrible war crimes. So did Israel. So did Hamas and Hezbollah. So did Russia and China and UK and Germany and Japan and France and Sudan and Syria. You know what? I WANT TO TAKE CARE OF MY OWN HOUSE FIRST BEFORE OTHERS DO. BECAUSE I STILL HAVE A HOUSE (ALBEIT BROKEN), AND AM NOT HOMELESS (YET).

Ganselmi, I will ask you the same thing I asked Fred
by AnonymousAnonymous (not verified) on Sun Apr 05, 2009 07:00 AM PDTThe number of civilians killed by the U.S. in Vietnam (2 million) and Cambodia prior to the rise of the U.S.-backed Khmer Rouge (600,000) far exceeds the number of leftist Mojahedin, leftist Fadayan, leftist Tudeh, and right-wing Monarchists executed by the IRI. U.S.-backed military dictatorships in Indonesia, Zaire, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Chile, and Argentina killed millions of people. And yet, I have never heard you utter one peep against the far greater crimes of the U.S. government, whose government on a daily basis kills dozens of civilians in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. What can one conclude other than the fact that you are an apologist for U.S.-perpetrated killing?
