The Tenneseean -- Former Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair was killed in an apparent murder-suicide with a young woman who worked at an Opry Mills restaurant and had been dating him for months. Advertisement McNair, a hometown hero who did extensive charity work in Nashville, had several gunshot wounds, including one to the head. He was found on the sofa of a Second Avenue condominium that he rented, police said. Sahel Kazemi, 20, was found on the floor near him with a single gunshot wound to her head. A pistol was found near her body. Metro police spokesman Don Aaron said investigators were not actively looking for suspects Saturday night but had not ruled out any scenarios. He stopped short of calling the deaths a murder-suicide, but said the police should be able to classify the deaths today after autopsies and forensic work>>>

by cyclicforward on Sun Jul 05, 2009 08:44 PM PDTYou are so full of it. Who made you the saviour of Iranian women. Mind your own business and don't try to control other people lives. You don't know a whole better than the others.
Sahel Kazemi is an Iranian in the News.
by Davood_Banayan on Sun Jul 05, 2009 08:37 PM PDTAmericans for a Democratic Republic in Iran.
Chosing Ms. Sahel Kazemi as "Iranian of the Day" was a great choice.
She is an Iranian who was intimately involved with a married African American Athlete.
What happened to her is sad.
Many in the internet are calling her the new "NEDA".
Both Neda and Sahel Kazemi (Neda #2) were young women who died at a very early age.
It is high time that people wake up and prevent Iranian women from being in dangerous situations.
Where is Superman when we need him.
Superman is faster than a speeding bullet.
If Superman was around he would prevent the bullet from ever hitting Neda #1 and Neda #2.
Cruel???
by Anonymous_irani (not verified) on Sun Jul 05, 2009 07:53 PM PDTWhat do you mean cruel?? The girl did everything a woman isn't supposed to do to ANOTHER WOMAN'S HUSBAND...It's not the man's fault alone...people blame the men and say men are pigs...but when you have women like this offering themselves out to people with a little bit of money and fame it is a shame and then you ask why we are cruel???
There is nothing more CRUEL than someone killing a father of 4....We should speak good about this person?? Maybe you'd like your daughter to do this to a married man, father of 4, but I'd definately not want my daughter to be this way.
Bashing her
by Anooo (not verified) on Sun Jul 05, 2009 07:41 PM PDTappearance and intelligence is "trashing her" as you put it.
How about we have this discussion after the facts are proven. Sure, there's a strong probability she did it, but it's too early to start pointing fingers.
Some of you are not very smart or good-looking either, and apparently have no shame.
Appparently, Sahel's aunt
by Shaz (not verified) on Sun Jul 05, 2009 07:40 PM PDTAppparently, Sahel's aunt has spoken on the issue:
Sepideh Salmani, Kazemi’s aunt, has spoken to numerous news outlets and described her niece as a “young girl who had so many dreams that they never came true.”
Kazemi came to the Nashville four years ago with then-boyfriend, Keith Norfleet. They broke up about five months ago, and she reportedly started seeing McNair soon after.
“He started to talk to her a little,” Salmani said. “They exchanged phone numbers, and started dating from there.”
Kazemi told her sister that McNair was in the process of divorcing.
“That’s why she was like, ‘OK, now you’re divorcing. We can date,’” Salmani told reporters. “He told her, it was going to be finished, the whole divorce was going to be done, two weeks from yesterday.”
Davidson County’s court records shows there is no divorce pending in Nashville. His wife, Mechelle, hasn’t spoken to the media and there has been no word of a divorce pending in Mississippi.
“All she was trying to do was have fun,” Salmani said. “Nothing else. I believe there is a third person involved.”
Her greatest dream, Salmani said, was to be famous.
“I think she is now. She is everywhere,” Salmani closed in a morbid statement.
Salmani fears McNair was using her sister, because she was a young woman with a pretty face. She fears jealous people in his life are the reason her sister is dead, and won't live out her dreams.
Those are not the facts
by Anonymous_Iranian (not verified) on Sun Jul 05, 2009 07:22 PM PDTHow do you know what the facts are? Oh let me guess, you read them on TMZ.com or maybe CNN wire? Get a life, why don't you? A 36 year old married man was chasing her, a 20 year old. THink back to when you were 20, did you do dumb things? No one knows whether she killed him or not, but don't be so quick to judge and assign blame.
IMagine you are a late teen, working at Dave and Busters, and a flashy guy shows interest in you, spoils you, and makes you feel special. People, regardless of race or gender, have a need to feel good and loved. Maybe that's what she got. Either way, the outcome is sad and trashing her as a "bad Iranian" - I think an Israeli Iranian rapist was Iranian of the day once. It's just a category JJ uses here for various people and news.
Again - it's interesting that the 20 year old is the focus of this, when a 36 year old married man with four kids didn't show better judgement than to get involved in a passionate affair. Sounds like he screwed himself.
She killed him and then committed suicide.

There is no trashing of
by Tell it like it is (not verified) on Sun Jul 05, 2009 06:21 PM PDTThere is no trashing of anyone here. Here are the facts:
She was of Iranian origin, She was 20 years old, she had an affair with a married man with four children. She did not look that good, she was not very smart. What part of these facts are trashing? Has nothing to do with her being an Iranian or not. Stupidity is not for certain race or gender.
Why are Iranians so cruel?
by Anonymous_Iranian (not verified) on Sun Jul 05, 2009 05:18 PM PDTThis young woman was misled by a man who wanted to have sex with her and make promises with money and sweet talk. She's not the first, and won't be the last.
It isn't clear if it was murder suicide or if they were targeted by a third person. Either way, it is so sad. Why do you all have such a need to speak badly about a 20 year old, who could be anyone's daughter, just to feel good? She's dead. Give it up. How can you people talk about "freedom in Iran" and "women's rights" when you trash dead women so easily?
Poor taste
by tabriz1 on Sun Jul 05, 2009 04:30 PM PDTPoor taste on your choice!!
kind of racist
by Army Captain (not verified) on Sun Jul 05, 2009 04:14 PM PDTToo young to learn about the OJ problem?
OJ was a perpetrator, and McNair was a victim. So i dont understand the link between the two, other than the same skin color.
I hope as the world begins to learn about the Iranian, that we refrain from demonstrating the vicious racism, that we have been victims of during the last several decades.
What's up with Sport Star?
by sara19781357 (not verified) on Sun Jul 05, 2009 04:11 PM PDTi just don't get it.. they are star .. they do charity work .. they are married and they have an affair at the same time? i am sure they are pretty good at giving false hope too... in Iranian culture if a guy sleep around === no problem but if a girl does that ...OMG .. she will go to hell?
to the editor of the site
by das (not verified) on Sun Jul 05, 2009 03:34 PM PDTwhat does iranian of the day mean?
somebody who makes iranians proud or some one who makes the news regardless of the reason?
God bless her! But, c'mon! Am I proud of her for sleeping around
by gol-dust on Sun Jul 05, 2009 03:43 PM PDTw/ a married man and ........? No way! She is dead, otherwise I had much more to say! I guess, she was too young to learn about OJ problem. Apparently, she did not posses any moral character that would make her an Iranian of the day, or night! God bless her! How do we know that she was an Iranian, besides the name?
I would be as proud of her as the Armenians are of Kardashian!!!
I wish this site would publish the very breast revealing phot in a place like a bar that is posted by one of the posters instead of this innocent photo! Bad judgement!
