I was actually searching for a funny name to call IRI's so-called "fighter" plane. But I guess they have done it for me....
Who came up with this name? Someone who wanted to make an a*s out of the IRI?
GOD, this is FUNNY!!!!
Great Leaps in
by Iranyvaliazad on Tue Mar 10, 2009 07:30 PM PDTAssembly of imported parts. I would be truly impressed if I see a bicycle designed and built from scratch where Iranian metallurgy, mechanical scientists come up with design and materials. If buying foreign parts and technology and putting them together was a great feat then I have to take my hat off to folks from Dubai for designing and constructing buildings that are beyond imagination.
In order to be a great nation in building “things” .. the government needs to
1) Pay attention to migration of great minds (brain drain) from Iran.
2) Invest in Research and Development sector particularly in Universities.
3) Encourage and promote those who are really the thinkers, the achievers and the dreamers and not the family members of the leaders.
4) Create an environment where the scientists can think freely without worry about their future and well beings.
5) Create friends and not enemies with technological superior nations so ideas and knowledge can flow freely between two countries.
I give a big fat ZERO to IRI for above 5 items, therefore, I know, what they promote is nothing but mirage.

by XerXes (not verified) on Tue Mar 10, 2009 07:15 PM PDTThe dude is lost in love with Jews and Christians. Becuase with his logic, he thinks that since Iran is "bad" therefore all the enemies are "good". Another LA style mindset to make you say, WOW.
Iran will move forward, whether these little people want it or not. Listening TDSzion? All those who are criticizing Iran wish they could have a tiny bit of Iranian life style copied here.
Zionism is Terrorism, are you a Zionist?

Great!

Really MRX1
by Toofantheoncesogreat (not verified) on Tue Mar 10, 2009 06:19 PM PDTI guess you want a country with only 20 years in military aerodynamics to produce a stealth F22 fighter off the bat? Or maybe putting a man into space before a satelite launch? Or nuclear submarines before even having a basic nuke program? The sad part is, that one day when our young scientists do achieve such objectives, EVEN then, self haters like yourself will jump out and critisize. If Shariff had presented to you a 6 generation Stealth fighter tomorrow, I promise, you would have even hated on the color, just to have something to complain or self hate about.
To the rest, this is old news. The capabilities of the fighter surpasses the 1970's F5 thanks to the Russians and Chinese lending and sharing technology to our universities. Ignore the self haters who blend their own insecurity with the nations progress in science and defence. The defence ministry would not spend money on such projects if they had no use for them. Arm it with home made sea killer missiles, and you already have a hefty home made deterrent against a war on the homeland, among other uses.
In about 7-9 months, Iran is going to announce a new fighter, most likely it will be the M-ATF fighter, Morge Ashura Tactical Fighter. So far, underground defence articles have been giving it rave reviews.
Every long journy starts with a small step. Saeqeh and Azaraksh were just that, small steps. Considering we couldnt even manufacture RPG rounds in the 80's, I would say this was (note WAS) a huge step. Im looking forward for the next big step.
