(CNN) -- Iran is so powerful today that no country would dare attack it, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Sunday during an annual army parade. "Iran's army is so mighty today that no enemy can have a foul thought of invading Iran's territory," the Iranian leader said, according to state media. "Of course, Iran is a friend and brother of regional and independent nations and it wants peace, progress and security for all countries," Ahmadinejad said >>>

by Midwesty on Mon Apr 19, 2010 05:25 AM PDTWhen it comes to Iran, feeling about her doesn't count as doing for her. This is the politiest way I can put it regarding your situation. You have spent more if not all your life outside of Iran. What do you know?
I am not even sure if your feelings are real for her. You have an accumulated anger towards IRI since the revolution. This is what you feel and what you care.So where is the real feel for Iran herself?
Well, my freind, I can't change your mind since you've had 30 years to look and think. So a few minutes of conversation can't change anything.
So, you do your job, I do mine!

Display of "lack" of power.
by پیام on Mon Apr 19, 2010 01:24 AM PDTSo sad that these non-Iranians have hijacked our army and have made it this vulnerable. If anything, this parade only displays the shortcomings and rather lack of defensive power of i.r.'s army.
It was a fine parade this
by Sargord Pirouz on Mon Apr 19, 2010 12:02 AM PDTIt was a fine parade this year in Tehran.
Of course, the Iranian S-300 variant launcher surprised most everybody.
Myself, I was surprised that flights of F-4Es and MiG-29s flew overhead, given the weather.
The Army 23rd Commando Division looked great. Nice red roses.
And no protesters whatsoever to be seen anywhere! Imagine that...
Re: It didn't take American army a week! It has taken years ....
by obama on Sun Apr 18, 2010 10:13 PM PDTIt's amazing that you guys believe it can finish off Iran, but it has decided to go through all these diplomantic hell!
Destroying the army and overthrowing them is one thing, but occupying them another. I am not defending the idiots in IRI, I am just responding to your comments. It is amazing that everyone here so easily become experts in military and world affairs. (I don't pretend to be one.)
Honestly, if they had finished Iraq in one week, years, or even if they had finished the job by now, you bet they would have invaded Iran long time ago! This is what frustrate them, and IRI knows that. That's why they keep going after sanctions and infiltrating through other means.
US got the bombs to blow up the whole world many times over. This has been a bless and curse at the same time. When you are too strong, you don't think that you need to use your head as much. That is why british got involved in Iraq to be the brain for the power of the US.

the music sounds so "Western"
by jigsawnovich on Sun Apr 18, 2010 06:01 PM PDTReally, it sounds a bit like merry-go-round music. Couldn't they hire some Iranian composers and musicians to come up with more uniquely Iranian-sounding music, played on Iranian instruments, albeit amplified?

There should be quite a lot of disillusioned Antonietta's and Gabriele's behind Closed Doors in Tehran since last June ...
//www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdQHKM4eIm4&feature=related
My thoughts are Only for them ... and not this BIG BROTHER and his Ridiculous Bellicose Gang !
Plot:
The film is set during the late 1930s: the occasion is the first meeting between Mussolini and Hitler. Left alone in her tenement home when her fascist husband runs off to attend the historic event, Sophia Loren strikes up a friendship with her homosexual neighbor Mastroianni. As the day segues into night, Loreon and Mastroianni develop a very special relationship that will radically alter both of their outlooks on life.
