by Shazde Asdola Mirza
05-Nov-2010

Shazde Asdola Mirza

Dear Suri

Your fair and accuate defence of the late Shsh, given that you are from both Qajar AND (formerly) Tudeh background is most commendable. I am sure your are equally fair about his faults but you are an exceptionally just lady.

Shazdeh jon, why unfortunately, its very fortunate actually.

You're correct, that was a children's chant. I was testing to see if you remember.

What did you think about Akhavan's poem and " sugar" and all that?

P-J, that's really funny

could explain why a grown man would be so desperate to have his hand kisssed by a row of  hairy men with moustaches at every given opportunity. Poor man, this is the first time I feel for him.

by Souri on

and as you know well, I don't give a ... to what you think of me!

From the beginning, you came here just to say this last phrase you just said now.

A little mind like you who can't use his brain, does not really matter for me what he would think about me.

Souri

........

by Souri on

I really didn't want to go trough all this, because honestly I am not interested in all these bigotries. I like to spend my time on more serious stuff....but alas, here in this site we get always carried on involuntarily.

1) The Shah was not gay. Even if you want to stick to him the label of "bisexuality" be my guest! This has no values in my eye! Because this has nothing to do with his politics and his rein in Iran. The prince Ludwig II of Bavaria is also said to be gay, and I'm in love with him and his accomplishments.

2) Soraya not only ghalat kard but even go..khord if she said such things. I wish I could see with my own eyes that she wrote something like this (and you have read those bigotries!! my eye!!). At the time that Shah was alive and in power, Soraya and any other person never had the guts to write such thing. Soraya could not even date any man she wanted because she was in constant surveillance by the Shah's men! Leave alone writing a book with such memories! I mean, give me a break okay? You and I are Iranian, lived in Iran of the Shah, and we know how it was ruled.

3) All the pictures of Soraya & Shah show how much they were in love. This is far from being victim of a gay husband in a castle of loneliness!
4) This stupid theory of Ernest Perron, is completely khale-zanaki, made by the male chauvinism Iranian who love to humiliate and belittle a man by calling him  gay!

How would a serious mind believe that, Reza shah dictator would accept that his son, his successor, brings his gay lover to his darbaar in Iran? I don't understand with waht brain you are reasoning?

Even your very liberal father, as a Joe the plumber, would never let you do this at that time. So what is the logic behind this story? Explain it to me please.

5) As a student in France, I've seen many documentaries about the Shah and Farah Diba's whole life. That was right after the revolution and the French TV was not so kind with the Royal family, believe me. I have seen a documentary on his life in Le Rosay. Many of his school comrades who were the influential men at that time, have been interviewed. They all said good thing about the Shah. They said that when he first came there with his air of "villager= dehati" the school-mates began to mock him and always trying to humiliate him. They spoke of a boy (now I think this was Ernest Perron) who was always defending the Shah and he became his first friend at the school. They all said that the Shah was so clever, humble that he always responded to their mockeries in a very witty but polite way...so much that in a short time he made lots of friends. They said that the guys always gathered in his room at the dorm, to listen to his stories and his jokes (another proof that he was not a shy boy, to the deception of Mr Milani) ........

There were lots of stories around the Shah and Farah Diba who has studied at Beaux Arts in Paris. Never ever I heard that the Shah was shy or that he was gay!! OMG, Mohamad Reza Pahlavi ? Being a shy guy?

Even in her book, Soraya describes him as sometimes cruel! She also said that Shah had lots of sens of humor and he was making some jokes at the private ceremonies which made everybody admiring him.

I don't care about the guy, but I am so depress to see some grownup Iranian men are so stupid and kootah-fekr like yourself!

This is really disgusting.

Souri, time to COOL OFF!

by P_J on

The one you mentioned is Soraya’s second book, which I have not read.   Her first autobiography/ memories, was written in early to mid 60’s as I mentioned before and out of print.   You might be able to buy it in an auction, and at a HEFTY price.

Excerpts from WIKIPEDIA:

Princess Soraya wrote two memoirs. The first, published in 1964 and published in the United States by Doubleday, was Princess Soraya: Autobiography of Her Imperial Highness. A decade before her death, she and a collaborator, Louis Valentin, wrote another memoir in French, Le Palais des Solitudes, which was translated into English as Palace of Solitude (London: Quartet Books Ltd, 1992); ISBN 0-7043-7020-4.

Time to COOL OFF!

Souri

Now you are making me really mad!

by Souri on

No I don't want to believe this stupid story, because as I already said, I have a brain and I learnt to use it correctly!

Soraya's book " Le palais de solitude" in French (translation might be: The palace of loneliness?) has not been published before the Shah's death! Sorry your information are somehow, maliciously wrong! I had read that book!

In that book she said also that she was madly in love with her husband!!!! She said that Shah was a playboy!!! She said that she wanted to live with him, but this was Shah's mother and sister who forced him to divorce Soraya!!! She said that Shah's sister had put something in her meal to make her sterile.........and she said lots of other bigotries to sell her book and  to feed the curious mind of some khaleh-zanak who love to beleive in such stories!

Now leave me alone with your stupidities and believe in whatever please you! Stop this none sense!

P_J

Hello Souri Again!

by P_J on

Soraya’s memories, was written long before revolution, believe in mid or late 60’s and has nothing to do with book writing after or before revolution!

I can’t see any VALID reason(s) as to why an HONORABLE individual like her would make such an erroneous statement while backing it up by another witness like Fawzieh.

I am sure that it must have been known in quite a few quarters.  Now whether you want to believe this or not is another story!

Souri

P_J: old news!

by Souri on

Soraya's book is known by every ones now.

Nothing new dear.

Many people wrote many things after the revolution.

This book writing is becoming a Good business nowadays!

P_J

Response to Souri!

by P_J on

What Shazde wrote, I had read in Soraya’s memoire/autobiography some 30-35 years ago.  There, Soraya expresses EXTREME anger and disgust coupled with helplessness about the whole ordeal.

She on her visit to Switzerland chaperoning Shahnaz who was visiting her mother Fawzieh, asks her the question of why she, Fawzieh, had to ask for divorce from her husband?   Her response and its BIGGEST reason was the presence of Mr. Perron, his homosexuality and his CLOSENESS, implying sexual, to Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.   Soraya also writes that when the two men were together, in a private room/ bedroom, no one was allowed anywhere near it, it became off limits to everyone.

Earnestly Speaking

by Faramarz on

I truly enjoyed reading your play about the late Shah, and I am looking forward to reading Abbas Milani's book on him. I have always been interested in the late Shah, as a person, and I am glad that finally somebody is writing about his childhood experience at the boarding school, his relationship (or lack thereof) with his father, the influence of his deeply religious mother, his relationship with women and his failed marriages. Although I have to admit that the whole Ernest Perron episode is news to me. I think that we are past the point of arguing the merits of the monarchy, or the good or the bad of the late Shah. That party is over and we all have our own opinions, especially those of us who lived through his rein

.Thank you
