AP: Iran on Wednesday hanged a former soccer player's mistress — known as a "temporary wife — who was convicted of murdering her love rival, the player's wife, the official IRNA news agency reported. Shahla Jahed was hanged at dawn, after spending more than eight years in jail, IRNA said, in a case that has captivated the Iranian public for several years. Jahed had become what is known as a "temporary wife" of former soccer star Nasser Mohammad Khani. She was charged in 2002 with stabbing to death Laleh Saharkhizan, the player's wife, and convicted of murder in 2004 and again in 2009, after her appeal was denied. >>>

I won't trust Khani if i was the last woman on earth
by Blind Justice on Thu Dec 09, 2010 04:27 PM PSTI really want to prove to the world that Shahla was soo innocent. Yes Khani admitted that his wife loved her, but he never made time for her. You claimed that Shahla had lust for you, but your days and nights were spent with her. Who does this guy think he's kidding???
I don't live in Iran, so i can't say i understand the law, but i wish i knew what the Iranians felt like when there were hangings. It's sad though, that Khani got away.
I read that Sakineh was released, yet to be confirmed.
.....
by yolanda on Wed Dec 08, 2010 02:53 PM PSTThank you, Blind Justice, for your post and videos links.....I watched them all last nite.....very interesting......Khani said that his wife loved him whole-heartedly....but he did not say if he loved his wife whole-heartedly........he said that Shahla was full of lust...but he did not say if he had lust for Shahla also......the dude has no remorse for anything! The guy seems to be spoiled.....
I agree with you that:
Now that the Islamic government of Iran feels restrained
and pressured not to kill Sakineh, it seems like that they want to
prove their power by executing a woman! By killing Shahla they want to say “We have not bowed to international pressure”.

Evidence
by smr00 on Tue Dec 07, 2010 06:27 PM PSTSo forensic evidence indicated a left handed person stabbed her and that she was raped before she was killed and they still convicted her?? The issue of rape opens up a whole other can of worms - seems absolutely insane that they could convict her of such a crime if forensic evidence indicated that there was a rape. How horrible...
At the same time, I really wonder what did happen. I feel so sorry watching those home videos. For those quick to accuse, yes she did sin but she also seemed like such a loving innocent person...
From what I know, Iran isn't such an unsafe place where random break in and rapes happen so I really wonder what the incentive for targeting his wife was?
* Shala’s lawyer emphasised that the case has ten legal errors*
by Blind Justice on Tue Dec 07, 2010 05:16 PM PSTChantel Marques
As a caring citizen of the world, I am outraged! Does The Islamic
Republic of Iran have the blood of an innocent woman on their hands,
again?!
[Shahla Jaahed has been imprisoned in Evin prison in a special
women’s unit where she’s been living with nightmares for eight years.
In the past few days her execution order was confirmed by Laarijaani,
the head of Islamic Judiciary, and the order has now been sent to the
Criminal Court, which means Shahla could be executed any day!
Shahla was to be executed by hanging several times before this date,
but the widespread protests inside and outside of Iran had stopped the
government. Now that the Islamic government of Iran feels restrained
and pressured not to kill Sakineh, it seems like that they want to
prove their power by executing a woman! By killing Shahla they want to
say “We have not bowed to international pressure”. We ask all kind and
concerned people around the world to stand up and help prevent Shahla
from being executed.
Shahla was a nurse. She fell in love with a famous Iranian footballer,
Naser Mohammad-Khani. The two of them started living together and
began their hidden life together in Tehran. Naser however was married
to another woman, Laleh Saharkhizan, at the same time. Laleh was
murdered in Tehran on Autumn 1981, and while Naser was away in
Germany, Shahla was arrested and convicted of the killing.
Even before any appropriate investigation took place, the Islamic
Republic media announced her guilt and named her as the murderer. The
interrogation, along with torture soon commenced. A few years ago
during a phone conversation, Shahla told me: “the interrogation lasted
for weeks. They did all they could to me, they tortured until I wished
I was dead, and on occasions, and until they forced me to confess and
sign what they dictated. They even threatened to bring in a little
girl from my family, who is like a daughter to me, and hurt her if I
did not comply. I did all they asked and confessed. After the torture,
in the courts, I protested and retracted my confession; I told them I
am not the murderer, but no one would listen to me.”
Shala’s lawyer, Abdulsamad Khoramshahi, has always emphasised that the
case has ten legal errors: the half smoked cigarette found in the
scene was given as evidence, while Shahla does not smoke; the
stabbings were done by a left handed person, while Shahla is right
handed; the body was washed and dressed in clean clothes after the
killing, something Shahla would be unable to do. The whole
investigation was not clear and transparent, the search for evidence
was not done with formality***, many leads were left unattended, many
witnesses and those with information did not show up in court and
nothing was done scientifically! However, they were quick to come to
the conclusion! Later the result from forensic examination showed
Laleh was raped before she was murdered. The government judiciary
system had made their decision before the interrogation and before any
evidence was shown. The government had intended to announce Shahla as
the murderer and used her ‘confession’ and thus sentenced her to
death.
Shahla’s criminal court case*** and everybody had heard from Shahla
that she had been tortured and threatened in order to force her
confession. Shahla critisised the barbaric treatment she received in
prison and the court’s unjustness towards her, and stated that they
wanted to victimise her to prevent the investigation of the original
case.Shahla is a smart young woman who loves poetry and arts. She
continues writing poems in prison and is well loved and respected by
other inmates due to her abilities and characteristics. During the
previous years, there has been widespread activity to stop her
execution, within Iran and internationally. Among these activities was
the making of the movie “The Red Card”, which has been screened in
international media and in some festivals, including the Holland film
festival. Shahla is one of many victims of a misogynist and tyrannical
regime. We have not let them execute her, and now that the government
has been paralyzed from executing Sakineh, we will not let them
victimize Shahla instead.]
Source:
//notonemoreexecution.org/2010/11/11/the-isla...
Clearly, Shahla WAS victimized! What are the odds of a confession
under duress? What are the odds the killer is still at large? What are
the odds of REMOVING a bloodthirsty Regime from power? How many more
innocents have to die, needlessly?
Based on the evidence, Shahla's case was flawed from the beginning, in
which case I blame all those in power, who suffer from bystander
syndrome, for her death!

by smr00 on Tue Dec 07, 2010 03:52 PM PSTDoes anyone have access to any of the evidence in the case? I don't know what to believe...I watched the movie but again, not all evidence was displayed. I read a theory somewhere about security forces or even khani wanting the wife dead and hiring someone to do it but i'm not sure what evidence there is? Why would security forces want the wife dead? any theories about this?
Do not make a saint out of her PLEASE
by Tehran on Tue Dec 07, 2010 03:40 PM PSTAll together God bless her soul, she is gone..I am against capital punishment, this all said. She killed Laleh or she didn't, I don't know & I don't care.
But, let's not make a saint out of her. Knowing this guy she is in love with is MARRIED with 2 KIDS she still passed her phone number to someone to be given to this guy,, ???!!! WT...
it was said they were never sigheh then they said they where sigheh,,?? There are articles on the net that refers to them as lovers...
What kind of person goes after somebody else’s husband??
I am not saying this guy is worth anything he is a drug addict who cheated on his wife and his family and bought his freedom with money....but Shahla Jahed (I have no idea if she killed anyone or she didn't) was not an example of innocence,,,common everyone.
Some of you are (shooresh ra dar avordid ) going too much out of your way to show ,,she was this and her pestan and all that nonsense... shekamatoon sireh va kar va zendegitoon chi shodeh???
I bet, you are not even married or don't have any children, if you did and someone else goes after your spouse what the hell are you going to do???sit and talk about sherr O verrr?? & Pestoon hayeh dagh e tarf??????? (Reading this just made me threw up in my mouth..)
I swear to God if someone passes phone number to my husband she better say her goodbyes to her family since I will kill her with my very bare hands....innocent or guilty,,,she will be guilty in my court of law.
Please don't give me the nonsense about "she was in love..." she had no business falling in love with someone who is taken,,,there are thousands of single men and divorced men and widowed men around,,,,pick one of them & pass your number.
Shahla was not dumb she was smart enough to become a nurse, so she could understand good from bad. She was on the other hand stupid enough(if she was really innocent) to confess to murder for the sake of her lover to be free????When I think about women like this in the world I feel ashamed to call myself a woman. How can feminists support her cause?? She was a put down to all feminists believe in, Strong women,,independence,,no-nonsense life!!!
& don't try to give a glamorous picture about the life of criminal women in jail,,,how come I am not in jail,,,they have done something really bad & against the law.... that's why they are there...aside from the political prisoners and people who are in jail because of their religion.
To People who think Shahla's mother's picture was sad to look at, no doubt in my head it was sad to see..on the other hand..
Maybe you should look for and find a picture of Laleh's children's faces when they came home from school & found their mom dead in a pool of blood...or a picture of Laleh's mom when she was holding her dead innocent child in her arms and crying(we all know Laleh was innocent for sure!!!)
To everyone who might write answer/s to this, I am not going to waste my time and energy going back and forth writing about nonesense,& dump people who can not make a decision that is worth 3 cents,,,,,I might come back & read your post but basically don't expect an answer,,even this 5 min I spend writing this I regret it,,,but I am so sick of everyone making a saint out of not so innocent people....think about it.

Capital punishment should be abolished
by Souri on Sun Dec 05, 2010 07:51 AM PSTThat's why the Capital punishment should be abolished.
Last year, in Canada, a man who has been accused of murder, has been released after 13 years of jail. The government had to pay him around a million dollar (if I'm not mistaken) for the wrong verdict which had cost the man, 13 years of his life in prison.
