I think living down under may affect a person's sense of reality, or is it that the delusion of Islamic democracy makes one light headed and prone to spewing nonsense? 

Islam, OR ANY OTHER RELIGION - by definition and practice can and will NEVER be democratic. That is why religion and politics must be fundamentally separated by at least 3 parsecs or else...you'll get today's Iran.

With all my respect to Mrs Rajavi and my Mujahedin brothers and sisters I have to make one thing clear. Democratic Islam can (in practice) be the same Democratic Communism as practised in People's Democratic Republic of Korea.

So be careful brothers and sisters. The basis is Islamic Democracy.

Why Believe Her?

Talk is cheap. Why believe her. She and Masood Rajavi (co leader, husband, partner in crime) have done nothing to prove that they are truly committed to democracy.

1) they are unelected, self appointed

2) they do not have elective offices in their movement anywhere

3) they have murdered opponents (inside and outside their organisation).

She can go F**k herself. I have a hypothesis, that goes something like this: without the MEK/PMOI/MKO the IRI might have been a lot milder, less blood thirsty, maybe even more democratic. They were part of the IRI when the regime turned violent, they polarized the whole political landscape in Iran, and killed their IRI opponents for power ... The net result is a regime all Iranians hate, and an one opposition force (MEK/MKO/PMOI) all Iranians hate.   Iranians need an alternative to the MEK/MKO/PMOI to oppose the regime. Their very presence reinforces the IRI.  No one would depose the regime in Iran to have the MKO/MEK/PMOI. Of the two bad alternatives, the MKO/MEK/PMOI is far worse.

A group led by unchallenged leaders for life, with a history of intolerance towards internal dissent, with a president who continues to display on her head the symbol of women's oppression in the Islamic Republic... talking about Islamic democracy?

Forget all that...

Even the most democratic interpretation of Islam, anything less than the separation of religion and state, leads to one thing: a theocracy. Been there done that.
